The price of the protection plans has increased. Be sure to pay attention to the manufacturers warranty to determine what plan is best for you. We are replacing the inoperable unit. We called the manufacturer of the new unit. Not only do they offer a three year warranty, but they also offer parts to be able to repair the unit we are getting.

The portable AC I bought started acting up. I was going to just buy a new one, but decided to see if the extended warranty claim was worth the trouble. Turns out it was a super smooth process to file the claim and get an Amazon gift card. When I order the replacement, I'll be buying another extended protection plan/warranty.

The very bottom line is Asurion fulfilled its protection plan contract. However it was not an easy process. It took my asking for a supervisor (who became my “ambassador”) after getting nowhere with several phone bank people. Even then the response time went on over several days. As the insured item was very much needed asap and likely because I had already jumped through a week of hoops with the manufacturer, I finally received a gift card for the full amount to my insured item. Whenever I have the option to get the Asurion protection on a product I purchase on Amazon, it's a no-brainer. Great company, easy to file a claim, magnificent customer service, and hassle-free. I purchased a portable AC unit 3 years ago and added Asurion protection for 4 years. The AC recently started making noises. I called Asurion, explained the problem I was having, and they sent me an Amazon gift card for the entire amount I paid for the AC. WOW!

Our AC unit stopped working after 3 years, thankfully we had purchased protection plan through Asurion. I submitted a claim and they issued a gift card for the unit! Super helpful and great that we could purchase another unit.
