All in all, I am very happy for the value and the amount of work it saves me, not having to blow or shovel snow. I use this on my cub cadet and had no problems installing it. I did add 100 pounds of weight and chains for traction in icy weather. Packaging is a little on the light side. As others have found that the small parts bag was torn open, and parts were loose inside the box. The instructions require some thought, and the diagrams are not the greatest. The unit has sufficient strength for light to medium snowfall. The spring clips did fall out and needed to be replaced with heavier clips. The handlebar grip needed to be super glued onto the lift handle so it wouldn’t slip off in use. These were the only problems I had with this unit so far having used it twice. ... show more

This plow is awesome!! I installed plow on xlt 1040 cub cadet! Also recommended to apply wheel chains ,and for a quick tip and save u money ,I took a milk crate and bolted it to the hitch hole on mower and placed an 80 lbs bag of concrete inside , the plow is amazing! Installing was simple!! In the instructions you will find 4 different pics for u to choose which model is yours , some require the Oval metal plates to be used , mine only required shoulder bolts and not the plates !! Besides that it's very simple! Tip! Plow blade height guides nuts ,best to use ratchet wrench, basic ratchet won't fit!! ... show more

Works well and sturdy enough for the price paid. The instructions were mostly clear but took me some time to figure out as they did not exactly cover my mounting as there were existing brackets where the plates were mounted The shipping box was not sturdy enough and a nut and bolt were sitting on my porch because the box was not completely taped on the ends. Two bolts on the skid plates fell out and a nut and washer were gone. If they would have secured those pre installed bolts more there would not have been a issue. I needed to supply a lock nut and washer to complete the install as I am sure they fell out of the box. The handle to raise and lower the plow seems a bit thin but works fine hopefully it will not be a issue. ... show more

Solid quality made of thick steel. At twice the price is the John Deere version better, hopefully it is. With a little cutting and grinding the mount fits a JD L series and allows the hood to still open. You will need to drill two holes in the frame, see attached pictures. Have a craftsman 24 HP Lawn mower and finally decided to get a plow for it. Very satisfied so far but haven't used it that much. Got chains on the rear tires so ready for a good snowfall. Needs better instruction and needs a universal mounting bracket or in some cases like mine you need to drill another set of holes in frame. Making sure bracket allows for hood to open.

Works good, lifts easy, well made, the only thing i had to do was drill a 3/8in hole on each side of the frame to mount the brackets, used the first hole already in the frame in the front so just added one for the back of the bracket. the one thing i wish it came with is a cable to pull the release bar back to tilt the blade to either side and a handle to move the blade after releasing the bar to tilt it, will have to make my own, you have to get off the tractor to manually release the tilt bar and move the blade from side to side by hand. ... show more
