This is a really good litter box. Others say it isn't large but it is quite large and more than big enough for my cat who is quite large. Maybe it's not big enough for a Maine coon cat but it's big enough for a large cat. Assuming you get the large size. I'm very happy that it is made in the USA with recycled materials and is treated with some kind of antimicrobial stuff. We have the large ones as I have a numerous cats (3 inside right now, but have used these with having 12 in the house before) and two are very big boys. This is a good size for my elderly cat, so she doesn't have so much clearance to clear with it's height. However my big boy cat, it's not large enough for him. He scoops litter all into the floor. I love arm & hammer items however I could have done without this litterbox. I needed a larger one.

I have an arthritic cat that sometimes misses because he doesn't crouch enough to urinate, so I was looking to replace my old box, which is 8 inches high on all sides. This box's photo is deceptive, as it is only 5.5 inches high at its highest point. It's useless to me and I will be returning it. Color doesn't match any of my decor but I knew that but needed a new pan for a young cat. He uses it, but when I scoop, because it's so slippery, the long handled scooper slides across the bottom and it's more difficult for me to retrieve the "p" or "p". Oblong square plastic thing holds kitty liter. Which I may say is an excellent way to do this. If I were to put the litter just all over the floor, it would be a horrible mess. But lo and behold, a device to hold the litter in a desinated area, where poo and pee from my kitties three will be deposited. I only wish it came kitty litter colored.So far my 3 little half demonic cats are using this just fine. It had no holes, no cracks, no rips, no tears. It was solid, as it should be. It is not reversible. You can not invert it (turn it upside down). If you were to inclined to do so, keep in mine all that is in the poo receptile will be deposed onto your floor and then the top of the pan would be flat. No room to hold about 4 oz of litter. And the little darlings would have it everywhere. So use it as directed. I suppose if you wanted to use this as a tiny boat to float holding the cat, being empty, you could try that.
