I am very happy with this Aquaphor pitcher. I previously had a Brita, which was just fine, but the battery operated indicator for changing the filter died and I guess you don't replace those. Anyway, I saw this pitcher, and it is just the size I wanted - the 7 cup seems a lot more convenient for me that the 6 cup sizes more readily available, and not nearly as heavy/big as the 10 cup ones. This model has several advantages that I appreciate. 1) It will use the Brita filters I already have. 2) It has a "pour through" lid - super convenient. You slide open a panel, using your thumb, and run the water right through the grid that opens. Then slide the panel shut, and your water is protected - nothing can fall in. There is no lid to raise or lift up when putting water in. 3) This pitcher has a manual counter to indicate when filter needs changing. When you slide the panel open to pour water in, a little plastic gear moves, and that is what counts for water use. So....no battery to die!! Highly recommend. ... show more

I just bought this one and received it 2 days ago. We love it! It comes with 3 filters, lid slides open to fill, and has a thing on top that tells you when the filter needs changing. I recommend this highly.

I had bought a pitcher from another well known competitor and received the product and when I opened it there was a hole in the bottom of the water canister. I returned it and thought I would try this one, and I am so glad I did. I have really terrible tasting water here in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. I literally smell the chlorine so bad that it's to much to drink it.
