If you buy this product, congratulations - you will have acquired the acme of great-tasting water dispensers! I'm an architect and so I can greatly appreciate successful engineering, however, the designers at Brita took it a step further and, literally, thought outside the proverbial box and created something truly new and appreciable. You'll notice it immediately, especially if you've owned their previous large capacity model. The new Brita container is much narrower and has greater depth, thus, occupying a sliver of precious refrigerator shelf space. An ingenious new filter location - just behind the spigot - totally eliminates the separate water basin, rendering the entire container's interior fillable. A green/red LED light band on the spigot, now indicates when to replace the filter. (No more date stickers)! And the tedious water pouring process - bringing the container forward to avoid its upward-swinging lid from hitting the refrigerator shelf above - is now replaced with a horizontally sliding lid closure and a vertical handle up front, thereby, greatly reducing the container's advance forward from the refrigerator. Kudos. Brilliant. The pièce de résistance, however, is - despite all this re-engineering and shape-shifting - the Brita team was able to increase the water capacity of the new container by 5 cups!!! (Picture the design team being asked to come up with a better product and then seeing the smiles on the executives' faces when they did)! To make a short story long (as I just did): "Get it. You won't regret it!" And congratulations to the entire team at Brita. I don't know you, but as a design practitioner, I admire what you've accomplished. I love this water filter & dispenser. It was time to replace our old Brita pitcher (it was getting hard to find the filters) and honestly I was sick of refilling it 2-3x a day. I was a little worried about the size, but it actually takes up less real estate in the fridge than our old pitcher, as it sits nice and flat against the side. It dispenses water at a good speed, and just slows down a little as it gets low. We did notice that it was leaking after use at first, but quickly discovered that if you gently press the nozzle lever forward after dispensing water it doesn't leak at all. I love that I only need to refill it a few times a week instead of several times a day and my 4yr loves being able to get his own water as it's really easy to use. We've had it for about 2 months and we're very happy so far! ... show more

I have used this for a week now and I love it. It came with a filter but it was tucked away in the side of the box so look harder if you think there isn't one included. I love the slim design so it doesn't take a huge chunk of space. It's easy to fill if you have a big sink or a sprayer. There is a handle on front that you can use to pull it forward if needed. I can fill a glass without moving it but you might need to pull it forward a bit so you can fit your glass under the spout. It is a bit pricey imo but I'm still happy I bought it as I really hated having to fill the normal brita pitcher every few glasses plus the waiting to fill all the way. Just ugh. So yea this thing is great cause it's huge and there's no wait when you fill it for the water to get filtered as it filters as you go. ... show more

First time I've seen the concept of filling the container with water and it filters WHEN you pour your water. There's a piece you slide open at top to fill out with water, filters are not expensive and it comes with a sensor attached at the spout which will indicate when you need to change the filter. It's a nice bright green ring when you pour to let you know it's good or bright red to change filter. Usually you have to pour the water and wait as it filters down which can take some time, but this one. Takes up very little space. LOVE IT!! ... show more

for all intents and purposes this is a good product. I am buying a second one because Im happy with how it fits in my fridge, its volume and ease to clean. Problem is that the valve leaks and is not repairable or adjustable. It's been good for 3.5 years, hence now to 4 to 5 star review. I feel like it should have lasted longer, but I like it enough to but it again. The filter completely removes the nasty chlorine flavor of Savannah, Georgia tap water ... show more

Gave us great results for 3 years until something in the faucet withered away, producing an unstoppable leak so we're looking to get a new one. But a 3-year shelf life is fantastic for this product. I recommend it.

I love this product for a number of reasons. It has a high 25-cup capacity. With the filter located at the bottom, you can add water from the faucet very quickly and once in the container, water is only filtered as it is poured out. The filter does not interrupt/slow the flow of water. Filling a cup or pan from this Brita water filter is quick, unless the water is within an inch of the bottom when it's time to refill. The water to my condo comes from a public source. There is a definite "pond" and sometimes "musty" smell to the water during the summer. I started buying bottled water, until I made this purchase. With the Brita my drinking water is clear, with no taste or smell. The filter must be changed every 60 days. At that time I remove the old filter, wash the container and filter holder, replace the filter according to instructions, refill and place it back into the frig. After using this item for several months I actually bought a second one, since I also use the water to fill my coffee pot and for cooking. I am very happy with the performance of this Brita water filter and I have stopped buying bottled water. ... show more
