I have tried a few different designs by BRITA and this one by far is the best design. Why? Easy to load the filter, filter indicator works, handle solid color (not clear) so doesn't fog up, super easy to take apart and clean. It looks great and is always at the ready to fill our coffee and tea pots - easily fills a 12 cup decanter. I have another one that has lasted 4 years so far and still looks great and works great. Now we have 2 - one for coffee, one for tea! I m8ight get another for the fridge with summer coming! It really does make a difference in how our water tastes - we have town water and old house pipes. I have had a previous model Brita pitcher type water filter model in use since 2015 that served us fine, and was still working, But I wanted a new water filter pitcher that filtered out heavy metals too. Using the heavy duty blue filter with this newer model does filter heavy metals as well as the usual materials. I researched many other water filter pitchers and read reviews on various websites before buying this one. The Brita pitcher filters extremely well and has improved design features over the old model. The water tastes better too. The length of time before filter changes is naturally dependent on how much you use it. Its digital “ time to change filter” on the lid works fine and is handy. As a newer model, it fills easier and the the fill line is obvious. As with any of these plastic water pitchers, they are not meant to endure abusive handling, so reasonable care is recommended. While simple to do, It is a a bit fussy to disassemble it for cleaning. Having used this Brita pitcher for 5 months now, I can highly recommend it, and I purchased it myself so my review is totally unbiased. ... show more

I love these pitchers, and they last for years, but eventually a part breaks because I not only drop it, then I manage to step on it while looking for the piece. So, the most recent replacement pitcher I bought is the Large 10 cup Grand in red, with the fancy double timer on top. I was very happy, until about three months later when the timer croaked, by itself, I didn't break it. Well, I called Brita, ready to ream them out. I said, really mad, "This thing is only three months old, and the timer croaked!"; and as I paused for breath to continue my tirade the agent said, "I'm so sorry, we'll send you a new one". Oh. Okay. Imagine my surprise, actual pleasant customer service. Then, when I was expecting the little timer piece, an entire new pitcher arrived. Yup, Brita said that's what they meant to send. The box included a nice letter of apology, and asked me to give them another chance. You bet I will! I have a supply of the old filters, and I'll use them up before I start using the new longer lasting filters I bought, but I love that the pitchers work with either filter. Go, Brita!!! ... show more

I opted for the pitcher when I read the faucet attachments had water pressure issues or faulty sprays. I’ve had one before, different brand, but wanted the filter indicator. This is a decent mid-range option for price. The capacity is enough for me without taking up too much space in the fridge. I appreciate the rubber grip on the handle, and the rubber knob to easily open the top lid to fill. The automatic flap lid on the spout is also the reason I chose this model- eliminates fridge odors or airborne bacteria from tainting the water. It filters within minutes. The indicator light is easy to set or re-set. The bummer- seems you can’t replace the battery after it dies, leaving the filter indicator useless. You have to manually keep track after the battery dies. But, you can use the regular filter or the extended life filter in this model. I think it’s worth it to get the extended if you go through a lot of refills. The taste is great! It is just as good as bottled water or filling jugs up at a water station. It’s literally the equivalent of getting a water delivery service, but at your own pace w/ smaller quantities & lesser cost. It’s also great you can filter warm water for cooking or to brew tea almost instantly- place the canister in the fridge for cold drinking water later. All out of tap convenience. What I don’t favor: the bulky top portion. Half of the unit is the top filtration unit. I feel like recently technology can design something better & less obtrusive. The top flap w/ the filter indicator also dislodges from its grips easily- I feel like I’m going to bust it off accidentally. And, you have to be careful dumping with the lid off of the filter is in place- mine dislodged & nearly went down the disposal several times. It seems like a bit of a task to click in, but dislodges VERY easy! Overall, I’m happy with it & the results. It’s saving me from having to purchase water on the regular/ fill my own containers. It isn’t compromising my faucet pressure or function, and I can get filtered water on-demand in seconds. The filter replacements are also very affordable, still costing less than other water supply options. My only concern is being able to remove the top filtration portion to fully clean the entire device. I don’t know if it is possible, or how easy to clean this will be. I’ll make a reminder to update in the future & advise on that aspect! ... show more

I did a good amount of research to find the best water filter for me. I really like Crystal Geyser, Smart Water, Evian, Aquafina. They all have a mineral content of around 300-400 parts per million so I wanted my water filter to provide the same mineral content. Zero water took too much out and made the water taste funny because it was lacking too much. After doing some research I learned that Brita recently upgraded their water filters, now take out lead, and provide a mineral content of around 300 parts per million. This pitcher was super easy to set up. It filters the water pretty quickly and since it holds 10 cups doesn't need to be refilled each time you poor a glass (unless you are pouring several glasses at a time). There is a meter on top that let's you know when the filter needs to be replaced. The water tastes great, just like my bottled water would, even at room temperature. I highly recommend this pitcher. It can take both the regular or extended (blue) filters and a bonus the filters are cheap! ... show more
