  • No complaints, works well.
Size: Small 480 GPH
This is a surprising good powerhead for the price. Fors well to keep the water moving in my 75 gallon

  • The size
Size: Small 480 GPH
If you have a 1 1/2gallon to 2 gallon tank It’s way too powerful for that size. But the function of it is fantastic.

  • Not bad for the price
Size: Small 480 GPH
Read the reviews, I’ll take the risk if it “breaks” in 2 months. So far for the small wave maker it is very strong for my 66 gallon aquarium. Makes strong waves and current to move food laying on the ground. I give it 4 stars because it’s great price but I’ll be waiting for it to break in a couple months. ... show more

  • Great budget fan!
Size: Small 480 GPH
I bought two of these for my 125 gallon. They work great! They're an upgrade from a single power head and do an excellent job moving all the waste and debris to the filter intake on the other end of the tank!

  • Strong

I have this in my planted 29 gallon tank unfortunately I had to take it out it is just too strong.

  • Works Well For 2 1/2 Months, But Then...
Size: Small 480 GPH
Plenty of power for the price, but not too much power for my tank (40 gallons). Really clears up the water in combination with an in-tank foam filter and an exterior canister filter. The fish also love to play in the current it creates. However, as another Amazon customer ('mike') mentioned in their review ('Great Until It Stops Working'), mine stopped working after the exact same amount of time. I purchased mine on Sept. 9 and noticed it was no longer working on Nov. 24; and it was no longer returnable. Initially I couldn't figure out how to take it apart, but again thanks to mike, I was able to twist apart the basket. (There's a simple notch-thread in the middle of the basket, but it seems to be threaded backwards.) I pulled out the impeller and, not finding any obstruction, just put it back together, put it back in the tank, and plugged it back in. It was working fine again. It seems like the impeller gets disconnected from whatever spins it. Initially I thought this may have been due to the fish nudging the basket around, or that the wave maker should be mounted horizontally or pointing upward so that the impeller doesn't gradually slide away from whatever spins it. So I adjusted the angle too. I also attached a piece of thread to the basket so I would know on sight whether or not it was working (see picture). On 12/2, the propeller was still spinning but the flow was dramatically reduced. Again the impeller seemed to have slipped away from whatever spins it. I pushed it back in, increased the angle upward. On 12/3 the same issue recurred. I took out the impeller, which had a fair amount of play (a gap between the elements on the thin metal rod that runs through them). I pushed on both ends to try to reduce the amount of play, put it back together again, and it's working again. But I'm really sick of dealing with this over and over. I expect it to fail again, at which point I will upgrade. I don't recommend this product. 12/8: The wave maker failed again. Throwing it out. Don't buy this, it's a piece of junk. ... show more

  • Worked well for months. But ....
Size: Medium 800 GPH
Worked great for almost a year. Good wave power and easily adjustable for direction. Unfortunately the clip that is used to attached the suction cup broke off rendering the wave maker useless. But it was a reasonable price and served it's purpose for almost a year.

  • Fantastic for the price
Size: Large 1300 GPH
I bought the large 1300gpg version over a year ago for my 75 gallon Cichlid tank. It's a simple, no-thrills power head that does it's job. It works great for the tank, it keeps good surface movement for oxygenating the water, and the down flow current keeps the majority of the waste suspended in the water column. It also provides just enough flow to keep my fish occupied with swimming and helps curb aggression. Has worked flawlessly for over a year. I recently bought 2 more to mix water in a container for my new saltwater tank. Works great for that too. If you just need a basic, cheap, no-frills wavemaker, this is the one ... show more
