I bought the large 1300gpg version over a year ago for my 75 gallon Cichlid tank. It's a simple, no-thrills power head that does it's job. It works great for the tank, it keeps good surface movement for oxygenating the water, and the down flow current keeps the majority of the waste suspended in the water column. It also provides just enough flow to keep my fish occupied with swimming and helps curb aggression. Has worked flawlessly for over a year. I recently bought 2 more to mix water in a container for my new saltwater tank. Works great for that too. If you just need a basic, cheap, no-frills wavemaker, this is the one ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have this set up in a 75 gallon tank. It runs 12 hours on a timed cycle with the UGF which is driven by four 110 GPH powerheads. Goes off at night when the HOB filters kick on, so the fish can sleep. Plenty of flow but a noticable hum. Not overpowering as to fling the fish everywhere. They occasionally will swim right into the direct flow from this thing. It's fun watching them swimming in the currents. Knocked off 2 stars because it has a huge footprint in the tank,the hum and lack of screening on the outake. ***EDIT*** 3/17/2024.... I should have read the description more closely as it states not to use on a timer. In my case, I can verify that if you do, sometimes it will start up in reverse when the timer clicks back on. I opted to leave it in the tank and let it run continuously. Unfortunately one of my fish must have decided to commit suicide as it actually swam through the opening in the front and well...you can guess what happened. Now it has a piece of nylon screening glued to to the front. ***EDIT*** 3/27/24 It stopped working. ... show more

Has forward and reverse and that is managed by pluging and in pluging the blower. Caution I got the second smallest blower and it’s almost to much for my 75 gallon tank my little fish struggle in the current. Dosnt kill them!

    • Power cord too short and the thing is huge.

This thing 1300 GPH looks like a giant monster in my 75 galllon. A little put off with that. The power cord is way too short. Will not reach my outlet like my Hygger could. The front has huge openings which could result in a fish entering. It has a really powerful flow and my fish seem to be drawn to it but it throws them in all different directions. I just hope it doesn’t throw one into the huge opening. The price is right so getting another smaller model is a thought but the power cord issue is going to prevent that. ... show more
