  • Will require soldering and some patience
Style: 2 pairs Color: TMR-PS4 2 pairs
Good product. Everything fit and works perfectly and was easier to use than original joysticks. You will have to calibrate the joysticks after installing them for optimal functionality. A simple online search will show you how. Soldering can be difficult if you don’t have the patience and proper tools. I got two sets but damaged my first set and A controller because I was impatient. On the second controller I clipped the pins from the old joysticks then de-soldered the leftover pins. If you are not careful you will desolder the small resistors near the joysticks on one side of the board. I did this and had to fix it. It was very difficult because it was about the size of a needle tip. If you don’t have some form of confidence then I recommend having a professional do it. ... show more

  • Work like a charm!
Style: 2 pairs Color: TMR-Switch Pro 2 pairs
The hardest part was getting the old joysticks off the board, I used a desoldering pump/solder sucker. No trouble getting these back onto the board. Put these in, and no more drift. I'm especially happy because the controller I was fixing was the Tears of the Kingdom edition. Also, the sticks are just like the originals, so no having to get used to a different feel. These are a very good value. ... show more

  • Great Replacement! (Tricky install)
Style: 2 pairs Color: TMR-PS5 2 pairs
Have only have these installed for a week but so far so good! These saved my favorite controller from stick drift. They'll take some getting used to as they're more precise than stock joysticks, but once you settle in you'll wonder how you managed without them! Few bits of advice: 1. Be sure to have soldering experience before tackling this project. You dont want to damage anything due to inexperience! 2. Get a solder sucker, it'll save you a huge amount of time and/or frustration. 3. Use flux. 3. Replace the accent rings too (if you've used a controller to the point of drift, those are also likely worn out) 4. Calibrate them after installing (their instructions say that, but don't forget it!) ... show more

  • So Far- So Good
Style: 2 pairs Color: TMR-PS5 2 pairs
Given just how quickly my PS5 controller sticks go bad, I'm glad these replacements are available. Seriously, the controller that came with my new PS5 went bad within 6 months of purchase so I bought a new controller, the left stick on the new controller started drifting within 6 months so again I bought yet another controller. Guess what, that one also started drifting on the left stick at just about 6 months in. My wife and I only use the PS5 for about an hour every night and no kids have ever used it. Floored why these expensive controllers go bad so quickly with light use. I finally got tired and frustrated with having to buy a new controller every 6 months. With that said, I finally decided to try and fix my controllers instead of purchasing new ones. Originally I was going to get Hall Effect switches but stumbled onto these TMR switches and after doing a little research came to the conclusion that the TMR switches are even better than the Hall Effect switches. I also read that Gulikit switches are the most popular but then also found out that "AKNES was created as the exclusive agent and partner of big R&D brands like: 8BitDo/GuliKit/RetroFlag/MOBAPAD". So if I am understanding correctly, these AKNES TMR switches are exactly the same switches that Gulikit sells but at a lower cost. Anyway, these AKNES switches are what I decided to try. I found that replacing these switches was fairly straight forward but I am also no stranger to soldering, so no big deal. Once installed I found the website where you can calibrate the new switches. Calibration was quick and easy. The TMR switches calibrated nicely however I did notice some slight off center jittering. They only stayed perfectly centered at 0.00 if the thumsticks were moved off center then quickly released. Fortunately the sticks work perfectly in game with no drifting. They also feel better overall than the factory sticks in my opinion. Now, I certainly would think twice about trying this with no experience in soldering however these switches are affordable so if you have no experience soldering electronics but want to try, your not really out much cash if you fail. You would just have to buy a new controller which really is the only other option when the factory switches go bad anyway. At the very least you will need a good high temp soldering iron (preferably one you can set the temp on), some good rosin core solder (or solid core & flux), a good solder sucker or a good solder wick braid to remove the old solder and a screwdriver set made for electronics repair. I would also suggest a anti-static mat, a anti-static grounding strap and a circuit board holder. There are some good YouTube videos that show replacement from start to finish. Lastly, be careful when soldering and de-soldering. The solder can drip and attach to other components on the circuit board causing shorts once you reinstall the battery. I actually had this happen on the second controller I fixed. I got the controller all repaired but found it was acting like the L2 switch was pressed which I confirmed on a website the test controller switches. I had to tear down the controller again to find the problem. I spent over an hour looking at the board under a magnifying glass looking to see if solder dripped on something. I was about to give up when I noticed a very small diode looked slightly different than the one next to it. I gave it a little scrap with a pick and a microdot (size of a pinhead) of solder broke free from it. Hoping this was the issue I reassembled the controller and retested. It now worked! Overall I am very happy with these switches and so far both the controllers I replaced the switches in are working great. I highly recommend these switches. I will update this review if at any time they develop any issues. ... show more

  • Doesn’t Work
Style: 2 pairs Color: TMR-Xbox Series 2 pairs
I have done tons of ps5 joystick repairs with trms from AKNES and they’ve been fine. But I got a 4 pack of xbox series ones and tried fixing one of my Xbox controllers with them and it seemed like all 4 are so out of calibration that I can’t even use the calibration tool on the Xbox or on windows. It doesn’t even register feedback on gamepass tester it just flips from top right corner to top left on its own and nothing I do can’t change it. I have desoldered and resoldered many times and still same results. It might be because I replaced both but I need to anyway and it’s not working. I’ve done tons of ps5 controllers no problems. Idk if I’m not doing something right but it seems like there is something wrong with Xbox joysticks in general from AKNES. ... show more

  • Restoration for a Budget Friendly Tech
Style: 2 pairs Color: TMR-Xbox Series 2 pairs
These TMR sticks have saved our two controllers from the landfill! Of course you may require some experience with electronic repairs beforehand, but it's a fairly simple beginner project. After installation, the setup is already done, stick calibration was already on point and so far, after 4 months of continuous use playing Mortal Kombat, these replacements have beat Xbox's stick drift by miles with just a 3% deadzone ... show more

  • Work, but not perfect.
Style: 2 pairs Color: TMR-PS5 2 pairs
Worked, was more of a project to swap them out than I first thought it’d be. But as inexperienced as I am at soldering and all that just surprised it actually worked after I swapped everything. Only been replaced for a day so I can’t saw if that anti drift will hold up over time. They do seem to have a small “dead zone” when first moving the joy stick. So they might not be a perfect replacement for the ps5 controller. Over all pretty happy. But I’ll probably save up for a better gaming controller at some point. ... show more
