This tool is great once you figure out how to navigate menus. Good bidirectional controls available. Tested on 2016 ram 2500 (could not adjust tire pressure thresholds), 1997 gmc k3500 (had great data display for transmission diagnostics and injector cut offs). Problem at this time with the tool is that the "TPMS" menu is not available yet, the printer, oscilloscope, thermal imager, work light, bore scope are not available yet. So I don't know when the additional attachments and upgrades will be available, that's a big let down at the time of purchase. For the price compared to others it seems to still be on point with the initial product. If you don't need the extra attachments you may find the lesser models to have the same capability if the extras on the ds700 are not needed. I was ecstatic to see all transmission data for a 4l80e from a 1997 tuck. Graphs 12 pids at most on screen, records, and has freeze frame data. I really look forward in using the product and cant wait for their oscilloscope attachment to come through fingers crossed. You do not need 24/7 wifi for the product to work. No Info based subscriptions yet like the harbor freight models. Although I'm not worried about that for what I do at this time. You need to understand what CAN-BUS is to under stand Topology in its simplest form to navigate the tool or you will be baffled, a few youtube videos on the subject you should be fine if your automotive inclined.

I picked this thing up the other day do have at my shop for our smaller fleet vehicles. Does everything it claims to. Disappointed though that it accepts expandable modules and yet Ancel doesn't seem to offer them yet, if you click on Ancel Store, it says coming soon along with a few other things that are coming soon...When exactly is soon...

The Ancel DS600 has been relatively helpful. Upon unboxing, the on-board software needs to be updated: the downloads and install took a couple hours. It was also somewhat glitchy: the Ancel unexpectedly shut off twice and had to be manually restarted each time. Thankfully, the updates were merely paused by the shut off, and I didn't have to start from scratch. However, be aware that this isn't an item you can simply remove from the box and start using; expect at least an hour of preparation. I have two vehicles that I've used this on. One is a late 90's Toyota 4Runner, and, frankly, I have not been able to get the Ancel to work with it. It asks for vehicle codes and classifications that I don't have nor which appear to be readily accessible, and trial and error hasn't allowed me to stumble on the correct selections. I intend to try to update the Toyota specific software (again) to see if that can remedy the issue, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. This is obviously frustrating. On the other hand, the Ancel has been incredibly helpful with my VW Golf (Mk 4). It has been able to interface with a multitude of the car's diagnostic systems and alerted me to a plethora of issues that standard OBDII diagnostic tools hadn't; it also provided much more specific information than a standard OBDII tool. I've been able to clear codes related to issues that I've addressed, and I've been much more successful at diagnosing ongoing problems as a result. The VW is now in much better shape than it was throughout the time I've owned it; thanks to the Ancel guiding my own amateur mechanic efforts. For this reason I feel very positively towards the Ancel DS600. The Ancel is advertised as being able to program key fobs (which I need to do); however, I have not been able to figure out this process yet, which leads to one of my biggest frustrations with this device: the lack of accessible, clear instructions. Via piece-meal perusal of forums, youtube, and trial-and-error, I've been able to figure out how to get the Ancel to do most of what I need it to do, but, in some ways it is currently stumping me. I would welcome better technical support from the manufacturers. This would also likely allow me to have a better idea of the many helpful things I COULD be using it for (but don't realize it's capable of). I imagine a professional mechanic would be more familiar with these types of systems and better able to fully utilize the Ancel DS600, but the lack of adequate instructions is a big hindrance for me. All in all, it has been very helpful in my work with one of my vehicles, and if I can get it to function with the other, I am very hopeful that it will be similarly useful. I am the go-to amateur mechanic for many of my friends and family, so I anticipate it being helpful with many other projects where I'm in a bit over my head.
