This made such a huge difference for our home! We used it to extend our patio & keep the the sun off the wall of our livingroom. It did great in the rain, just porous enough so water doesn't pool on it if you have it pulled tight. Amazing improvement to how warm our house got & absolutely will last us several years, since we take it down in the late fall/winter when the winds pick up. It is 8’ from ring to ring but it’s mostly webbing. The actual shading surface is like 4’x4’x4’. Extremely small. I bought a big 18’ one and was happy. They are very durable. The only downside is that when it’s dry the shade is 8’ in the air. When it is wet, it hangs 2’ lower from stretching and weight. If you plan for it then it’s ok. ... show more
