  • Decent first outdoor electric grill.
Grill does the job and is great for apartment living. Outside of a few issues with my order (next paragraph) i was content with my purchase. Assembly is pretty straight forward, although i advise to make sure you have a screwdriver and some pliers. The screws and bolts can be hand tightened, besides the bolt for the rotisserie lock, but you will be left with a wobbly grill. Do yourself a favor and borrow some tools from a friend. All positive asides. The Grill arrived with defects, which left me dissapointed. It had scratched paint and what appeared to be rust on the cooking element. Speaking of which, the adjustable element was loose and wouldnt stay in the "regular position. Lastly the grill was warped on one side, so the hood is unable to fit completly over it. Given Amazon says that its "new" really left me upset since it looked used and abused when i got it. Luckily the thing works fine enough, but i would of preferred if it looked nicer. ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised with performance. Great grill for our apartment patio!
We moved to an apartment, and had to put the gas grill in storage. I was not thrilled about having to go electric, as I was sure it would be pretty lame... like using a toaster oven. I've had this for a couple of months now and it turns out that I really like this little grill. Not a bulky toaster oven after all. With a 16x12" grilling area, it's smaller than our gas grill was, but it is more than enough for what we cook. Laying out two decent steaks and a bunch of asparagus is a little tight, but even that is doable. Cleaning is pretty easy... the tray slides out for cleaning. It was a little tricky the first time or two to get the tray out and back in, but now it's no sweat. It generates good heat. On the max setting it will sear a steak pretty well as long as I let it preheat for a little bit, but that's not any different than a gas grill...and if I really want them to heat up, the element/tray assembly tips, so the element is closer to the grilling surface in the rear. At that point, steaks to the back, veggies to the front, works great! ... show more

  • Does it even smell like summer grilling that brings back so many fond memories
I almost regretted buying this before it even arrived. I mean an electric grill? Does it even smell like summer grilling that brings back so many fond memories? Yes, it does smell good and yes it heats up nice and quick. I've dabbled with chicken and hot dogs on it and no complaints so far! Also, it was fairly easy to put together all by myself. Yay independent woman! ... show more

  • Amazing!!!
Full 5 stars!! I love the size of it, not too big but not too small. Fairly easy to assemble. But it does a wonderful job! Have made burgers, steak, pork, brats, and more! Definitely would recommend it to someone who can't have a charcoal or gas/propane grill. I attached a picture of it set up on my balcony, hope it helps! ... show more

  • Cheap but works
Some of the spot welds holding the main grill assembly came broken, and the rivets holding the shelves on the hinges came I little warped sonim sure it'll be a matter of time before the break off. It was cheap, it works, I'm too lazy to send things back for little issues so I'll be keeping it.

  • It is a good grill for a few strip steaks
I have had this grill and used it for 6-7 months intermittently over the past 2 years. It is a good grill for a few strip steaks, hamburgers etc but there is no way it would grill a dozen filet mignons as pictured. This is a last resort grill for condo owners desperate to be able to grill out. There is virtually no competition to improve the product. It is a cheap tinny construction that could be vastly improved upon. Unfortunately it's either $200 or $2000 in this niche grill market. This grill I have had to jerry rig to get the right distance between the burner and the grate. Contrary to the description, it is impossible to take apart and clean as described. I just remove the grate and use a paint scaper to clean off the pan after running it at a high temperature for 30 mins to burn stuff off first. And then tilt the base to scrape out the base underneath. Having said all this the taste of the grilled items is good overall and a useful product for cooking for 2 people in a pinch. Much room for improvement overall for any competitors out there looking for an expanding market as more condos try to abolish gas grills for insurance purposes. If there was any competition as there is in the gas grill market, I'd give this product 1 star. ... show more

  • cheap, but works
I previously had an inexpensive infrared electric grill, which, I broke one of the heating elements, and was unable to replace. So here I am. This grill is cheap. The unit is made of thin metal which doesn't hold its shape well. That is, the unit arrived with a warp near where the rotissirie unit would plug in. I have to apply force to the unit to get the lid to close and seal correctly. The wheels on the cart are a cheap plastic, and I don't expect them to last long if I actually use them to move the unit around. Thankfully, it's light enough that even I can lift the entire assembly. I've used it only once so far, and it was okay. I will add that the grease cup is a cheap aluminum foil disposable cup. I haven't found replacement ones (other than from the company), so I ordered a "universal" stainless steel cup and holder assembly - hope it fits! Also the cooking surface area is small, but works well for this single person. If you can find and afford an infrared grill, I'd go with that over this. But, if this is all that's in your price range, it will do the job. ... show more
