abunda_amazon_reviews We moved to an apartment, and had to put the gas grill in storage. I was not thrilled about having to go electric, as I was sure it would be pretty lame... like using a toaster oven. I've had this for a couple of months now and it turns out that I really like this little grill. Not a bulky toaster oven after all. With a 16x12" grilling area, it's smaller than our gas grill was, but it is more than enough for what we cook. Laying out two decent steaks and a bunch of asparagus is a little tight, but even that is doable. Cleaning is pretty easy... the tray slides out for cleaning. It was a little tricky the first time or two to get the tray out and back in, but now it's no sweat. It generates good heat. On the max setting it will sear a steak pretty well as long as I let it preheat for a little bit, but that's not any different than a gas grill...and if I really want them to heat up, the element/tray assembly tips, so the element is closer to the grilling surface in the rear. At that point, steaks to the back, veggies to the front, works great!;;Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2016;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Pleasantly surprised with performance. I love the size of it, not too big but not too small. Fairly easy to assemble. But it does a wonderful job! Have made burgers, steak, pork, brats, and more! Definitely would recommend it to someone who can't have a charcoal or gas/propane grill. I attached a picture of it set up on my balcony, hope it helps!;;Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2016;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Amazing!!!;;Lacey Johnson;;/gp/customer-reviews/R3P97B6SP2GS3E/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0007XXNSQ;;;I have had this grill and used it for 6-7 months intermittently over the past 2 years. It is a good grill for a few strip steaks, hamburgers etc but there is no way it would grill a dozen filet mignons as pictured. This is a last resort grill for condo owners desperate to be able to grill out. There is virtually no competition to improve the product. It is a cheap tinny construction that could be vastly improved upon. Unfortunately it's either $200 or $2000 in this niche grill market. This grill I have had to jerry rig to get the right distance between the burner and the grate. Contrary to the description, it is impossible to take apart and clean as described. I just remove the grate and use a paint scaper to clean off the pan after running it at a high temperature for 30 mins to burn stuff off first. And then tilt the base to scrape out the base underneath. Having said all this the taste of the grilled items is good overall and a useful product for cooking for 2 people in a pinch. Much room for improvement overall for any competitors out there looking for an expanding market as more condos try to abolish gas grills for insurance purposes. If there was any competition as there is in the gas grill market, I'd give this product 1 star.;;Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2015;;3.0 out of 5 stars;;It is a good grill for a few strip steaks;;Longvista;;/gp/customer-reviews/R1JSQV5PYL2165/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0007XXNSQ;;;This somewhat but not-too-tricky to assemble little grill is exactly what we needed for our condo. I don't even know if we are allowed to have gas/charcoal grills; I did know that we didn't want to be playing around with open flames on our balcony, so electric was the way to go. This grill heats quite quickly (~15 minutes), and gets hot enough to char vegetables, grill shrimp, and cook cedar-plank salmon just fine. We don't eat meat or chicken so that's not a factor for us and I cannot speak to how well it would work, though I suspect it would do okay. We use wood chips in foil to get smoke and foil to line the base and we are good to go! The oversized lid creates a surprisingly spacious cooking area, so we can even fit our cast iron pot in there with beans or whatever to keep the cooking heat OUTSIDE of the condo! To clean the reflector pan and grill I just soak in soapy dishwater and scrub with a dish brush (NOT wire) and/or sponge. No problem. I did my research and this product came up repeatedly as the best bang for the buck, and so it is. I won't ever spend $500 plus on a grill, and honestly, when there are products like this out there, I don't see why anyone would. Five stars! Tip: if you use wood chips, put the foil directly on the element (under the grill) or give plenty of preheating time for them to start smoking. Update: We have now had this grill a year and we still love it. It is soooo nice being to able to just decide on the fly to grill something and then fifteen minutes later you're good to go. I grill vegetables for salads all the time and I could NOT be happier with this product.
