I'm always down for things that are a Great Value and Amazon Basics tends to come through. I cook and make all my meals and love all my kitchen tools that help me do it. But I'm also cheap, minimal and practical. It's a balance between having purpose driven items and items that can do a lot. A stainless steel sauce pan is both, and a must have in my kitchen. When used for its specific, but many, purposes this pan is the perfect size, well made, and quite the workhorse. Will it compare apples to apples with the highest end stainless steel cookware? Probably not. Will it equally perform against average stainless steel cookware if you use and treat it right? Most definitely. All at a bargain that can't be beat. My non-stick frying pan gets the most daily use, but this comes in second ahead of the cast iron in usage. I use it A LOT is what I'm saying. It has been up to task. Titular sauces, pasta, soups, and so on. You name something that belongs in stainless steel sauce pans, it'll do it. The bottom is thick and distributes heat. It reacts to acids as it should with no flavors imparted. It cleans up. It will even shine up if you're that type. Treat it and use it right and it'll reward you. Don't take your eyes off when cooking. I've had this pan since May, 2022. I liked it even though I didn't use it much, it was fine. Today I was steaming/boiling some green beans with salt pork . Started boiling turned down to low heat. Went up stairs about 10 minutes later, which is usually fine. Done it many times. All water was gone, house filled with smoke, pan an food burned black. I recently moved off campus in college so I needed to buy a pot to make pasta and mac and cheese. This works great. The top slides around a little bit but given I paid like $20 for it, I'm not complaining too much especially because it doesn't slide off, just not a perfect fit.
