I've been using this kettle nearly daily for three years to boil water for my French press. My kids use it to boil water for ramen and it's (mostly) survived them. Basic, simple, stainless steel. Takes less than 3 minutes to heat the water to the perfect temperature for oatmeal, tea, ramen, instant Mac and cheese, cocoa, instant coffee, probably would be perfect for a hot water bottle even! I use it when filling up my mop water to get a better clean. Only two parts, the base and the kettle. Just lift off to serve, no cords in the way.     • Works as expected.
The first one I ordered had a slow but noticeable leak along the bottom. Amazon processed the return and had another one shipped to me two days later. This one doesn't leak. Excellent customer service.

    • Takes forever to heat up
I have both the large and smaller electric kettles from Amazon and the larger one (this one) takes way longer than the one that is only 1 liter. While I understand very little about thermodynamics, I do believe that they could have put a stronger heating mechanism in the larger pot so that it wouldn't take almost 5 minutes to bring the full pot to a boil. Also, the boil should have a longer timer, at least 1 minute before it cuts off. ... show more
