A great, relatively affordable large Dutch oven. After 6.5 years of regular use ours is still going strong, other than discoloration and a slight roughening of the formerly smooth, white enamel inside. It’s our go-to pot for gumbo, chili, beans, fried chicken or any sort of big stew/braised meat dish. While it will fit a large boule loaf of bread, we prefer our dark, bare metal Dutch oven for the darker crust it produces. We dropped the lid once and the paint (and our travertine floor tile!) chipped, but that was our fault. And if you have arthritis, maneuvering the heavy pot to scrub it out and wash can be challenging. But for certain dishes, aluminum or stainless pots just can’t compare to this great cast iron option.

As much as I'd love to say I have a Le Creuset Dutch Oven, I'm exceptionally pleased with this one. It is my first enamel cookware, but I've learned that if you use oil similar to how you would with stainless steel, you can avoid sticking. The "dimples" on the inside of the lid are a nice touch and overall build quality is exceptional. I was concerned at first that the handle on the lid seemed a bit undersized, but it's secured very well and does the job. Beautiful fit & finish. Packaging was impressive. Zero regrets. I don't write a lot of reviews, but this Dutch Oven is my best purchase of the year by a wide margin (and a fraction of the cost of Le Creuset).

Amazon Basic 6 quart cast iron pot in the new grey color looks wonderful. Love that the lid has the basting nipples and plenty of room for cooking most meals. I got this under $40 and the quality is superb! Will be braising some catfish for traditional Vietnamese dish cá kho tộ. I think this will do well. I got a ryobi plastic brush head for a drill to do the cleaning later so as to not damage the enamel.

I've had my eye on this pot for a while now, but just couldn't justify the cost as I already have a bunch of regular (non-coated) cast iron. However, it was on sale for Prime Day this year, so I finally pulled the trigger. And... I could not be happier! The color/finish is beautiful and definitely eye catching. It's super easy to clean and maintain. It heats up quickly, evenly, and holds temp like a champ. While I'd still prefer it be American made, for the price you just can't beat this one.

First Amazon review after using Amazon for 20+ years. Originally purchased the dutchh oven in FEB 2023 for $57.71. I used it exclusively for baking sourdough bread. i cook 1-2 loaves a week at a temperature between 450-500 degrees fahrenheit. Bought a 2nd pot to replace the first in JUN 2024 because the first one had too much damage to the porcelain coating Good Heavy, quality, porcelain coated, cast iron dutch oven that is very inexpensive compared to others Dramatically improved the quality of my sourdough loaves Beautiful looking - it is massive pan but my wife liked how it looked so it is displayed on the stove Bad The porcelain coating began chipping on the inside of the pan. Having said that, early on I would leave it soaking in the sink and fill it with silverware, smaller items, to soak. This may have caused some of the chipping? When I purchased pan 1 the Amazon spec on the page said "oven safe to 400 degrees". As of this writing, the webpage says "oven safe to 500 deg F" but the spec sheet that came with the pan purchased in Jun 2024 still says 400. I exceed that one a week. I bought it again because it is still a bargain. I'm hoping that better care of the interior will prevent chipping of the porcelain. I read reviews of Le Creuset pans that also chipped and they were orders of magnitude more expensive. Hoping to get multple years out of the June 2024 purchase.

This was well worth the purchase. I got an open box used but it was in amazing condition. The color is dreamy and the Dutch oven is of great quality. It’s heavy and sturdy. The lid lines up perfectly and I can’t wait to use this!
