This Amazon Basics enameled Dutch oven holds its own against the high-end brands. The one I got is this gorgeous deep purple with a gold knob, such a vibe on the stovetop, and the enamel interior is smooth, easy to clean, and heats evenly. I’ve used it to bake crusty sourdough loaves (as pictured), make stews, roast chicken, you name it. It holds heat really well, and the heavy lid traps steam like a champ, which is crucial for getting that perfect artisan bread crust. Is it a Le Creuset? No. But for the price? It’s honestly amazing. I appreciate the affordable price of this item. I was surprised how heavy this item actually is. My purpose for this purchase was to use this as a soup pot. The results have been perfect. I started shopping for a soup pot after using an expensive pot my SIL brought over, filled with soup. I expected to pay $350-$450 for a pot like the one my SIL had. I was thrilled to find this one for $50 and it is Purple. I love purple! The food cooks evenly and quickly. The pot is easy to clean. The only downside is that it is heavy. Imagine being surprised that Cast Iron is heavy. This is a Fabulous Deal from Amazon Basics. I am very happy with this purchase.

I was so excited to get a good quality Dutch oven for a good price. For the price it is actually a very good Dutch oven. It is a heavy and quality pan. I recently got really into sour dough and it has made a huge difference to have this Dutch oven. I love the purple color, so much more fun than the normal boring colors I have in my kitchen. It works just as well as a name brand Dutch oven but at a much better price. I have made both soup and bread in it and it has held up very nicely. After a couple of uses I did notice one small paint chip, but I am still happy with it otherwise. It is able to handle a large batch of soup and a pretty large loaf of sour dough bread. I definitely recommend for someone who just got into cooking/ baking but doesn’t want to break the bank just to get a Dutch oven. 4 stars, I took off a star for the chipped paint.

This enameled cast iron Dutch oven is an absolute workhorse, and my sourdough starter now bows down to it! The good news first: this pot makes a *mean* sourdough loaf with that perfect crispy crust and chewy interior. It conducts heat like a dream and has held up beautifully to countless high-temp bakes without a chip or crack in sight. Now for the *heavy* truth – and I mean *heavy*. Getting this beast in and out of my low oven is a true test of strength, core stability, and sheer willpower. I'm pretty sure my bicep routine now consists of "Dutch Oven Lifts." It's less of a kitchen tool and more of a small, culinary anvil. But honestly, for the consistently amazing sourdough (and stews, and roasts!), a little heavy lifting is a small price to pay. Just maybe invest in some oven-safe weightlifting gloves.

She was wanting one of the more expensive ones and after using this she thanked me and said this was even better.
