I gave this awning a 1 star rating due to the way it arrived. I have not been able to install it yet. The box it arrived in had one end covered with only a piece if loose cardboard attached with shipping tape. The corners were open and as I picked it up to move it, two bolts one nut and a washer fell out of the box. When I opened the box I found that the bottoms of all three of the parts bags had broken open and some of the parts to assemble the awning were missing. It only had nine of the M4x15 bolts, three M6x45, five 06 washers and only one of the bolts to mount the awning to the mounting bracket. The missing parts are just small parts but are required to put the Roller, Torsion bar and Front bar together so I cannot put the awning together until I match these parts at the hardware store. I cannot review the awning yet since I cannot put it together.

The delivery was good, on time no complaints. The awning is made of a material that is very thin in my opinion. It was easy to install but with the least bit of wind it moves....arms and all. It gives the impression that after a while the awning will fall off. It is easy to open but not easy to close. It wrinkles in the middle and it would be silly to think that you have to get on a ladder to be able to stretch it every time you close it so it does not wrinkle in the middle. It cannot be left open because of wind or rain. Once it is open and there is no wind it gives a nice shade.

Firstly, I want to say beware there are a couple versions of this product available from Amazon suppliers, one version you should *DEFINITELY AVOID*. Older versions ship with a 1/8" steel cable in the spring loaded retractable arms which is guaranteed to snap after a dozen uses, based on my experience. The newer versions ship with a 3/16" cable which ~2x as thick and does the job (see photo). I recommend you contact the specific seller in advance of purchase and ask them to confirm the cable size. The other caution is installation. Yes, the instructions are bad so you need to be an advanced DIYer to do this. Make sure you install the mounting brackets into studs with large lag bolts if you have a wood framed house. Also try to install the mounting brackets so they are positioned on the outside of the swing arm brackets if possible. If the brackets are positioned inside the swing arm brackets they will prevent the arm from retracting all the way. Unfortunately you only have ~6" on the main beam with which to work which may not align to where your studs are. I installed 1 mounting bracket inside the arm bracket and had to cut 1/4" off the mounting bracket and drill a hole through the bracket and main beam (see photo). Also, I recommend you lubricate the wire cable in the retractable arms at the elbow to prevent binding-- I used lithium grease. Lastly, I highly recommend you purchase the motor as cranking this out/in manual burns the arm muscles and definitely gets old if you use your awning often. Hope this helps!

Our awning arrived about three months ago. Both arms were bent so we contacted the company. New arms were sent at no charge. The awning was very easy to install. It took about 2 hours. The awning has now been installed for about 8 weeks. The green canvas fringe is badly faded. I would think that something that is intended to be in the sun all of the time would not fade like this. The awning works well for shade. The drop is adjustable and we had to adjust it. If the wind is blowing at all, we wind the awning in. It just moves to much in the wind and makes us nervous. Based on that, the awning is really only good for calm sunny days.

Cheaply made product with no real customer support. It came with the one arm swung down when we took it out of the carton. We thought there was an adjustment for it so we hung it. There isn't & customer support (only 2 guys) don't know anything about their products. They told me to email them pics to show them the problem & they never responded. I was able to still use it & did about a half dozen times & now has hole in the canopy. I do not recommend this product even if you can't afford a better one. Your better off saving up first. Hope this helps.

This product seemed to be just what we needed. It was the right size and color and appeared to be well made. The awning came with wall mounts only. The website has ceiling mounts available but no mention of roof mounts anywhere. I decided that we had enough height to use the wall mounts. The wall mounts are poorly thought out and the retaining bolt is very difficult to install. After getting it installed I noticed that when the awning is extended one side drooped down lower than the other. There is no mention in the directions about how to adjust this problem if it can be adjusted. Also the awning needs a lot of headroom so that when fully extended it is still at a useful height from the deck (drops down at a sharp angle). These issues have made us decide to return it. Now I have six holes in my vinyl siding to deal with...thanks a bunch ALEKO!

Does not come partly assembled. I have bought retractable awning many times & all have come partly assembled with at least the fabric in place on the tube. This awning came entirely in peices. My husband is a handy man & wonderful at putting everything together. With that said, took him over 3 hours to assemble. Very difficult!! After mounting, protect seems flimsy. Not sturdy enough. Everytime you open & close it, the awning shakes like if its going to fall. I also was missing parts so had to email them to mail them. They did without a problem
