Go ahead and save yourself time and money. I got it installed professionally, but the motor gave out after about eight tries. The item is extremely difficult to set up. I now have a nonworking awing installed; I can't take it out and or send it back. The contractor wants another $200 to take and pack it down. I called Amazon, no help at all. The company does not pickup their phone.

Got it assembled and its ready to install on the house. Instructions are very basic and should probably include details about which direction to assemble the arms and whether or not the arm should face up or down. I'm mechanically inclined so I was able to figure it out. But, even I had to redo a couple of things. So, anyone who's mechanically challenged will probably not fair as well.

Look elsewhere. I purchased the Aleko Awning because of the price. I should have just bought a higher quality awning. The Aleko Awning comes in thousands of pieces in multiple plastic bags. The instructions are extremely difficult to make out and decipher. You most have to go by the pictures. Thousands of nuts/bolts and washers to be assembled including electrical wiring for the motor and LED lights. It is an EXTREMELY LONG PROCESS and unless you have help will take a few days. The awning support brackets on the arms are made of a aluminum that cracked and completely shattered upon opening. The motor deployed the awning at a ridiculous speed, snapping the springs and mounting bolts of the Awning off of the house. The awning came out way to fast and is now garbage. Beyond and repair. Please if you made it this far,save yourself the time and money. Do your homework and look for another product. This is a dangerous product.

Watch video! Watch video! Ya the video is outdated and the instructions are horrible. Expect at least a full day 10+ hours of installation or split it up over two like I did. Was missing parts and now it's my job to identify what was missing. Product tore as soon as it was retracted first go around. I like it but wish I would have just spent the money for a better brand. Brackets literally snapped off and hit me in the head... Ouch! Customer service is ridiculous... I identified what I needed but now they want part numbers and pictures. Thanks.... Add to your pathetic broken product and worthless poorly translated Chinese English instruction. At least my house stays cooler but it looks like crap.

This awning is not at all difficult to assemble but its not something a person should tackle if they are not handy at all. If you are that person please hire some one else to handle the task. We had it put together and up in 1 hour. Very pleased with the quality so far. Will return with more feedback as time progresses.

Avoid these guys like the plague. This is a terrible product that I had nothing but problems with. The quality is terrible with parts having dings, dents, and marks when they arrive. I bought 2 and the colors didn’t even match. The awning went in and out 3 times and then stopped working and would randomly go on and off. This is the cheapest of the cheap China garbage and the supplier knows it. And just to add insult to injury when the piece of garbage doesn’t work and you use the 30 day return policy get ready to pay a couple hundred bucks a piece to ship it back to them.

This product is nice, however it has the worst instructions we've ever seen. They were small, hard to read and didn't cover every step. The Youtube video that an unrelated party posted was more help. Hopefully, you can find better videos, if not, plan on LOTS of trials and errors to get the product hung. My husband is a carpenter and he can figure out just about anything, he was very frustrated
