There is some slight wind noise with just the bars installed, so I left them attached to the rooftop storage carrier when I removed it after the trip. Caution! There are knobs (~3" dia) that are used to tighten the bolts to hold the crossbars in place. They got in the way of the rooftop cargo basket we bought. Either measure with those in mind or replace them with same size bolts from hardware store. Otherwise, the crossbars seem like they'll be fine for travel! ... show more

I remembered a week before a family vacation that I forgot to buy crossbars after I traded vehicles. I ordered these on Amazon Prime so I could have them within two days to transport my kayaks. The crossbars fit securely as advertised and they have a nice look. The crossbars secure to the rails by hand tightening the knobs at either end. There is no lock of any sort. My kayak carrier secured pretty easily to it. I'd rate them higher but the issue I have is that they do not come with instructions and it took me a bit to figure out how the mount. The crossbars for my 2019 Dodge Journey arrived quickly and in good shape. Although there were no written installation instructions, it was a "no brainer" getting them installed securely. I would highly recommend this product.
