  • Great!!
Size: L57.5" x W42" x H6"
I love this rack! I had the smaller one & upgraded to the larger one. It fills the whole roof of the car. Fits so much camping items on too. Easy to install & looks great on the RAV4. Quality is great. Sturdy. Great price too. Overall amazing item. Buy it. 1 person install is possible. But 2 would be faster. OH BTW, it will cause your MPG to go down. My hybrid tracks about 430-440 on a good day without the rack & with the rack I’m getting about 400-410 on a good day. So you will lose MPG ... show more

  • Rugged, Good Looking Rack
Size: L 68" x W 41" x H 8"
As you may gather from the picture, I purchased this rack for one purpose - to carry my spare when I head off-road. After researching various options to mount the spare on my Grand Cherokee, I went with a roof rack primarily because it pretty much cost the same as installing a hitch mount, but with way less hassle. The rack also gave me a ton more cargo options than a hitch. Enough of that, though... how 'bout the rack? It was super easy to assemble, and just as easy to mount. The 1.5" tubing just LOOKS so much tougher than almost all other cargo baskets I've seen. I was really most interested in buying the model without the extension, but it was unavailable anywhere until just a couple weeks ago, and the sale price of this unit made the purchase a no-brainer for sure. It is a perfect fit for my spare (285/70 R17) in the short configuration, and held up admirably through some moderately rough terrain and plenty of hard jostling on the trail. The rear bolts settled under the load and just BARELY scraped the roof, but that will be easily remedied with an additional washer or two. That's really more of a crossbar issue anyway. Otherwise, it looks and performs great so far. This is the first time I used it, so I have no idea how it's going to work in wet/cold/ extreme weather, but the finish was still completely intact, so I don't anticipate any real issues with that for the near future. I am very satisfied with it thus far, and couldn't be happier with the purchase. ... show more

  • Sturdy and Reliable Roof Rack - Recommended
Size: 47.25 Inch
I recently purchased this roof rack, and I'm pleased to say that it has met my expectations and then some. Here's why I recommend it: Sturdy Construction: This roof rack is exceptionally well-built and sturdy. It can handle a variety of cargo without any issues, providing peace of mind during trips. Its durability is a standout feature, and it feels like a solid investment. Minimal Complaints: While, like any roof rack, it adds some wind noise due to its design, I can confidently say that this is a minor inconvenience compared to its overall performance. The noise is manageable and expected with any roof-mounted cargo solution, so it's not a significant drawback. Does the Job: Ultimately, this roof rack does precisely what I needed it to do. It securely holds my cargo, making it a valuable addition for my outdoor adventures. Its functionality and reliability make it an essential tool for my travels. For anyone in search of a high-quality roof rack at a fair price, this is a great option to consider. It's proven to be dependable, and its sturdiness sets it apart. I'm keeping mine, and I believe it will serve others just as well. ... show more

  • Good Budget Rack For 2021 4Runner - Needs Mod To Work With OEM Crossbars
Size: L57.5" x W42" x H6"
We needed a cargo rack/basket for our 2021 4Runner ORP to haul our camping and off-roading gear. We didn't need a high-end or permanent cargo rack since we also have a Thule Cargo Box for our snowboarding trips. I ultimately narrowed my choices down to this, the Rola V-Tex, and the Rhino Rack X Tray. Based on my research (and I did waaaaay too much, just ask my wife), these three met our needs and were all comparable. The Rola V-Tex is a fairly popular budget basket in the 4Runner community, but I was scared off by all the horror rust stories. That narrowed my choices down to this and the Rhino Rack. What's interesting is that these two racks look nearly identical, have similar dimensions, and have very similar features. I ultimately went with Tyger due to the price and the extra rust-prevention features. What I Like: This cargo basket was fairly straightforward to assemble. The materials are pretty solid and the welds look good. I was mindful of not over-tightening the wind deflector screws after reading about others cracking theirs. The size meets our camping/off-roading needs and is the perfect length for our 4Runner with a sunroof. Not to mention, it looks pretty sharp on our truck. I've seen a number of people checking out our truck when we have this on. What I Don't Like: My biggest problem with this product is that the included mounting hardware are too long and do not work on the 4Runner's OEM crossbars. I had two options... 1) Go out and buy shorter bolts, or 2) Throw my Thule Wingbar Evo bars on the truck. Despite increasing the profile of the rack, I opted for the second option. It would be great if they had lower profile hardware so that I could mount this directly to my OEM crossbars. Also, while not a complaint on my end since I've been using various roof racks for many years, beware that this will decrease your mileage and introduce some wind noise, especially if you have a sunroof/moonroof. Final Thoughts: While I've only used this basket twice, it has met all my needs so far. I haven't done any of the tricks mentioned by others to further waterproof and rustproof the basket since I do not leave this on our truck. I'm going to hold off on doing any rustproofing until I do see any signs of rust to see how the manufacturer rustproofing features hold up. I'll be sure to report back in the future about what happens. Yes, you can find cheaper baskets on Amazon, but based on my research, it comes at a cost. I currently recommend this to anyone looking for a solid budget cargo basket. Whether you're looking for something for your outdoor adventures or simply something to pick-up women/men while mall crawling, this is a great cargo basket! ... show more
