I bought this first at target (back when Target was cool) in that little quarter sized jar in regular hold and was impressed. This new extreme hold didn’t disappoint either. Not sticky. Smells great. Holds 4c edges WELL and that’s harrrrrd to do. Tbh I think that, that ‘white stuff’ residue is just the price we pay for using edge control and they ALL do it but, that being said, the white residue for this is VERY low in comparison to others. It’s not enough for me to stop using it AT all. To combat that, I just put a liiiitle bit of oil on my edges after they’re laid and before I tie it down and it helps cute the residue down. I used this edge control on my 9-year-old daughter’s 4C hair, and it worked great! It smells really nice, had minimal flaking, and held her edges down all day — well, at least until recess, which is a win in my book. We also use it to tame flyaways when her hair is in a ponytail, and it gives a sleek, polished look. One thing to note: it sets pretty quickly, so don’t waste time. Lay, slay, and go!
