Awesome utility rack! I mounted them on my 2011 JK Wrangler and the install was very easy. I know that lots of folks don't like drilling holes in the top, but I actually prefer it to the gutter mount systems on the newer Jeeps. I don't like the idea of 2 full gas cans bouncing around on a gutter clamp. This system provides a more robust mount. Just follow the instructions carefully, and measure 3 TIMES before drilling holes. You will be rewarded with a leak proof sturdy mount! Highly recommended!

Came bent and scratched. Mounting hardware is too short for front top leg. Had to go buy 2” bolts to get through JK hard top on the front bar. Also will have to add additional block under top arms to make it actually hold any weight.

I'm generally opposed to options that a) require me to drill more holes in the hardtop and b) go away when the hardtop is removed. This piece hits both of those potential problems. I got past the drilling holes issue when I added my permanent roof rack and platform and, if you use your rack for a roof top tent or kayaks or bikes, it may be difficult to add fuel jugs and/or traction boards, both of which may need better access for maintenance or use. Finally, the point is moot if you never take your top off. This goes together fairly quickly and allows for a good amount of adjustment both vertically and horizontally. The hardware is all stainless, the vertical supports have poly bumpers where they touch the hardtop and the pieces on the inside are padded and spread the load across a modest area larger than just the screw holes. Hardware is provided for mounting traction boards though I noted the flange nuts were sloppy and loose on the threaded rod provided. They measured out okay on my bolt and nut index but the threaded rod may be a bit undersized. The suggest max weight capacity is 60 pounds which should be no problem for five gallons of fuel or some traction boards. All in all I like it and there is room for someone creative to use this kit as the basis for a custom install.

I had been wanting a solution especially with multiple hurricanes in a row to be able to easily carry extra gas. I thought this was going to be the solution to have an extra 12 gallons (4x3gal cans over the rear windows of both sides of the jeep) Alas this was not to be as once I received the item the instructions list putting holes in the hard top which I am not a fan of. I have gone out of my way to ensure I am not putting holes in the roof. This is a no go for me.
