  • Great coop for about 3 chickens - a few more if bantams
Color: Red Size: 82.4"L x 26"W x 44"H
Just received this today and wow I’m definitely impressed! The assembly was very easy and I did it alone, a drill helps a lot for the screws but can definitely be done by hand with a screwdriver if you needed to. The coop was packaged really nicely and organized well. We’ve try thing lined up just right and appears to be very stable and sturdy. I have three chickens/hens I’m using this for and the space is perfect fit for that number. I don’t think I’d do many more unless you have bantams then maybe 4-5. There’s two nesting boxes that are easy to access and the cleaning tray is perfect t for upkeep. I ready reviews commenting on cheap paint but didn’t feel like that was the case. Mine came painted a beautiful red and white with everything covered completely. ... show more

  • Great starter or grow-out coop.
Color: Red Size: 82.4"L x 26"W x 44"H
This is an inexpensive mass produced coop for small backyard flocks. It's ideal for bantams or other small breed fowl. While the coop space can house 6 larger birds at night, the run space is far too small for more than 4. Quality is a little on the cheap side, but still good value for money considering what you get. Easy to assemble with basically a screwdriver, though an electric screw gun is a better option Consider using this in a shaded spot for small breeds, for 2-3 larger birds full-time or as a grow-out or quarantine coop for adding to your existing flock. It is quite suited to those purposes. ... show more

  • Perfect for Bantam Chickens!
Color: Grey Size: 83.3"L x 26.0"W x 42.0"H
My son showed up last summer with a Bantam Serama hen and one tiny chick which he could no longer keep, I had never had chickens before and needed a coop but there are so many to choose from. We have many predators here from Bald Eagles to bobcats so the coop needed to be predator safe. They could no longer free range and it needed a fenced run. It rains and snows here too; a waterproof roof was top of the list. After obsessively researching what would be the best coop and saving dozens in my Amazon shopping list I decided on this one. By then the tiny chick had grown into a rooster and his mother was his mate, or at least he thought she was! Lots of squawking and drama there! She needed a space of her own and this coop had everything I was looking for. She is so happy in their luxury coop and laid 4 eggs the first week! They get along fine now, eating and sleeping together. The coop is sitting upon a mixture of plastic garage floor tiles and an old wood palette we had on hand to raise it for easier cleaning. We built a base to keep more of the bedding in the coop and not on our floor. Then added hardware cloth to the bottom of the base so when the weather is better we can move it outside without predators digging into the coop. (Photo is of the base upside down). We got the hardware cloth on Amazon at an excellent price. For now the coop is cradled on the base and held in place by the attached blocks. Some reviewers said they assembled it in a few hours. Our experience was more than double that and over 2 days even without the base. The features it has that are important to me are: 1. A long built-in run 2. Roosting posts in the (off the ground) coop space 3. Fully covered waterproof roof 4. Nesting box attached to coop 5. Sliding doors at top of ramp and at coop window 6. Ramp to coop 7. Portable- this has wheels so we can adjust location 8. Sturdy once assembled 9. Lots of doors with good latches for easy access 10. Expandable 11. Pre-painted- it is too cold now to paint it myself 12. Rodent proof mesh hardware cloth on coop sides It did have a strong odor right out of the box that has dissipated but is still slightly there. I think a lot of that comes form the waterproof roof. If assembled properly with all the screws it is very sturdy. There was one door with split wood I will fix with wood glue and fill. Does not affect functionality. For the price or even higher price this is an amazing coop! I will also add a latch to the door on the handle end of the run for safety when we move the coop outside and attach the base we built that it sits on with screws. The chickens and I are very happy! UPDATE: My son also gave me 3 large size chickens and the hen was getting abused by the roosters this spring so I needed to temporarily relocate the bantams and put the big hen in this coop. We moved the coop outside for her in a fenced area. I think she is a Rhode Island Red. This coop is definitely too small for such a big hen without letting her free range during the day, which due to predators can’t be done here. When I get a bigger coop for her and move the bantams back into this coop if I leave it outside I will add more hardware cloth and an additional lock on the end door. We have a bobcat in the neighborhood. I haven’t seen raccoons but was told by a neighbor that they are around and are very clever at opening doors and they kill chickens. I will also bolt the coop to the substrate we built that has hardware cloth to prevent diggers from getting inside. The coop has survived rains well since moving it outside but is only big enough for my bantams. Like I mentioned, I am new to caring for chickens and didn’t know that with using only bedding they need grit since they don’t have teeth. I lost the bantam hen to an impacted crop and learned a heartbreaking lesson that if you only use bedding and they aren’t outside where they can eat gravel and rocks they need grit. A feed store employee told me to use chick grit for the tiny bantams. I was also told by the breeder here who sold me bantams (replacement hens for the one who died to keep the sad rooster company) that she uses regular grit for her bantams and I recommend doing your own research. ... show more

  • For daytime use only - not predator resistant
Color: Grey Size: 83.3"L x 26.0"W x 42.0"H
I bought this as a temporary coop to separate one of my chickens. For that task, it worked well. I don't leave my chicken in here overnight or unattended. It keeps chickens in and deters aerial predators. Pros: - Super easy to assemble. All the parts fit. - Doors provide easy access. - Lightweight and easy to move. Cons: - Strange smell - hope it dissipates. - Very small - I would not use this to keep more than two hens. - The staircase board that leads from the run to the coop is covered in asphalt - yuck. Little pieces come off of it all the time. I don't want my chickens eating that, so I made a replacement. - Very flimsy - this will NOT stand up to most predators. I only use it when I can supervise my chickens, and we live in a low-predator area. It will keep chickens in, but will not keep predators out. A dog could easily tip this over, and a raccoon would tear it apart in minutes. ... show more

DO NOT BUY I REPEAT DO NOT BUY I bought this and coming out of the box it was falling apart the paint job was spotty the screws they put in were eathier stripped or not in the correct place there was multiple fractures in the wood not because of the wood itself because of the way they put it togeather and the did give some of my money back but even so the door track broke 3 days after I put it togeather the roof wont line up correctly it is all the way around a crap chicken coop now they might make better ones but for their people to pack this the way it was is pathetic and they are completely ok with selling damaged products its not because of shipping eathier it had Styrofoam and bubble rap so they packed it that way it had warped parts like its bad it took alot of extra time to fix the stuff they sent that was broke and its still falling apart ... show more
