  • Shouldn't be permanent
Pattern Name: Chicken Coop with Wheels
I like it's small size since I can get my younger hens in with the flock while they're still protected so the big girls can get used to their presence while keeping my 10 week olds from getting bullied. There's plenty of room, by industry standards and it's totally fine for young hens. The major drawback is the height of the roost in the actual coop area. I have a 12 hen coup for my 5 girls by the same company... Same color and everything BUT, the roost bars for sleeping are so low in this house that whatever litter you use will pretty much be level with the roost bars. Totally not cool. Now, while the opaque plastic over the take part is neat, my young girls keep leaping up at it and are bonking their heads so hard against it that I can hear it from the patio. I'm not sure if they're trying to catch the shadow of the tree, catching bugs on the other side or just trying to break through it. Anyway, it took me maybe 30 minutes to assemble for all you ladies out there and that was done inside of my chicken run with the girls trying to run off with bits or just being busy bodies that wanted to jump on everything. After doing the 12 hen coop that didn't come with a run, this was cake. I didn't believe I had to lay or get into any awkward positions to put it together. It seems waterproof so far. We just had 3 days of steady rains but this chicken coop/run combo was under the tarp of my run and there were no winds like we usually get from the leftovers of hurricanes (like last week) and tornado season hasn't started with severe storms that have horizontal rain. My 12 hen coop by this brand has stood up to those conditions though and has held up without leaks and I never caulked the screws on it like I usually do so that's saying something. I do wish there was a sliding window with rabbit wire (hardware cloth) for warmer nights so they can get a breeze. After a week of trying to integrate my girls, I've finally opted to put 4 of my grown hens into this while my three younger ones that have been unable to integrate are with a couple more docile hens for a bit. Then I'll let the more aggressive ones out... Like one every couple of days. I mention this only to say that the coop itself has more than enough room for 4 fully grown dual purpose hens and will keep them warm in winter. The castors could be a LOT bigger. If you're rolling across a paved area then no problem but get into grass or uneven terrain, it's another story! The door could be quite a bit bigger for my big birds to squeeze through but they manage it. I say this is great to start with when it comes to young hens but when they get older, they'll need a lot more room to be happy hens. It's great for segregating a naughty bird, isolation for medical reasons or a quarantine area and for younger birds but I wouldn't recommend it for a permanent habitat. Yes, great value for the money, it's totally light weight, easy to assemble, latches align if you keep it level, serves it's function, The wood IS thick enough but not dense enough... It IS wood but more like the wood that kids break in karate... Not quite cork but you get the idea! ... show more

  • Good value for teh price
Pattern Name: Chicken Coop with Wheels
This came quickly and well packaged. Directions were adequate but a couple areas it was a bit of a brain twist to make sure the part was going on the right way or in the right place. All the parts were well marked and all the screw holes lined up with the predrilled locations which was a plus. The construction material is soft wood, old style roofing and they give you plenty of hardware. The hinges are pretty flimsy and I may upgrade those down the road. but for intents and purposes, this fits the bill well. I did add wood glue to all the components that were screwed together to add additional structure support. The coop looks good completed, I just am not a fan of the soft wood for projects like this. I had to drill an access hole to run a heat plate cord through and my bit did a nasty chew up job on the wood...but it is what it is. But, we are very happy with this coop. we intend to use it only as a chick pen until they are old enough to be housed with the older hens. We will also use this as a quarantine pen should any of the hens need to be separated. This is sturdy enough to withstand short moves around the yard and the wheels are handy, but not very good on gravel. ... show more

  • Questionable.
Pattern Name: Chicken Coop with Wheels-Red
Super small. Good for new chicks. Very flimsy. Moved it once & pieces broke off. Make sure to read the dimensions.

  • Laughably small
Pattern Name: Chicken Coop with Wheels-Grey
So… this is SMALL. I knew it wasn’t going to be big, and I didn’t really need anything huge. I’m using it as an in between place for my younger hens before fully incorporating them in with the big hens. The IDEA of this coop is good, well thought out and fairly easy to assemble. The REALITY is not so great. The material is cheap, everything is tiny so it’s not substantial. The wheels are useless. In order to get the coop to roll you have to lift it so high that all your birds will be able to just run right out. There is nowhere to put food and water without taking up half of their space. I’m not sure I would even want to put two full grown hens in there like I originally planned. The door at the top of the ramp is questionably small, I’m not sure a full-size hen will fit to be honest. I’m hoping it will at least work for the per pose I bought it for, but I’m not sure how well it will hold up to the elements. If you have no other option, this can work. Ultimately I would save your money and buy a better one or build your own. ... show more

  • Nursery or infirmary coop
I bought this coop mainly to be a nursery spot for chicks once they move outside but before they're ready to be with the big girls. It also gives me a space if I need to isolate a bird. I would not use this as a grown chicken's main home. I have had chickens for years and I would not use this for adult birds unless it's only a sleeping situation for 1 or 2 birds and the run were much bigger. It was pretty easy to put together. I don't know that it would hold up in the elements for a long time. Some of my pieces were already splintered a bit. I would set the pieces in the shade while you build. The black floor piece started to melt and warp after sitting in the sun for a few minutes. I would also recommend taping the coop door shut until you get to the step that you attach the latch. I also wish the doors that you open had some kind of knob or easy spot to pull from. Overall, for the money, I think it will fit my needs. ... show more
