The original bulb with my AERUS Air Scrubber Advanced lasted over 3 years. This one lasted only 3 months. Very disappointed with this substandard poor quality BlueDate Air Scrubber Advanced bulb being passed off as being as good as the original. Nope!

So, did you know if your HVAC is equipped with an air scrubber, there is a little blue power indicator light that tells you if it is on (lit up) or off (not lit). Did you know that little blue light is also tells you when it's time to replace your scrubber. Honestly, I knew of the blue light and that it was for the scrubber. However, I did not know that the light tells you when to replace your scrubber. Heck, I didnt know it had to be replaced.... Turns out that, yes, you do need to replace your scrubber and the light does indicate when to replace it. well, as you can see from the picture, it was time to replace mine. very simple process to replace. of course your experience may differ. as for me, I turned off the unit, unplugged the power cord from the scrubber unit, removed 4 plastic twist nuts, slid out the scrubber, removed to additional thumb screws, popped off old scrubber, and simply reverse the process to install the new one. keep in mind the unit only goes in one way so the air flows through the honeycombs. other than that, it's a simple process. once complete and you turn the unit back on, that little dim blue light will suddenly be not so dim. my guess is that as the airflow becomes less and less due to debris clogging the honeycombs, the less light will be emmited. at that point, you will understand how it indicates replacement time. anyway, check your blue light and if it tells you it's time, I recommend this unit as your replacement. it matches the original in quality and performance and is priced very competitively. it fits and functions just like the original and is very easy install. a great choice! enjoy!

I had an induct scrubber that pretty much self destructed, so decided to rebuild it with parts i had from other projects and this pco cell. Cell fits the cutout fine, powers up off my frankensteined controller, and air quality is a lot better than before everything went the way of the dodo. No clue if the pco effect on this is real as it is a non-ozone producing model, so can only speak to the effectiveness of the uv source. The way mine is installed, it more or less bathes the strip heaters and evap coil in uv to stop things like black mold and slime molds from growing. Since adding this and rebuilding the system, indoor air quality has dramatically increased. So I would say the uv is doing it's job. The original system was set to run 24/7, which is probably one of the things that led to shortened bulb life and the controller dying.. I have this one set to turn on any time the fan turns on, whether it is heating/cooling/circulating. I will probably add a second one of these now that I know how easy it is to piece together a driver for it, but the next one will be in between the blower and coils instead of in between coils and duct supply side. that way i am getting some extra action on the blower blades and the other side of the coils.
