I had blonde highlights that I was tired of and decided I would cover them up by dying my hair dark. I know every hairstylist just cringed reading that lol I decided to go with the purple black color as I felt if the blonde was resistant that purple stained highlights would be cuter than plain black. I mixed the dye with 30 volume creme. It worked fabulous and completely covered up the blonde highlights and my gray and brown roots. One I found this color I can’t dye my hair with anything else. I have dark brown hair when I use this at first it looks almost black with a purple hue but then over weeks fades into a dark natural reddish brown it blends my grays perfectly

Good color I actually bought this because my local Sally store was out and I wanted to try this color this color is a level one meaning black, it also has the V meaning meaning a Violet hue or shine. My hair is colored not splatchy. Covered nicely and feels nice in my hair. However, it's not worth the mess of application. And Rinsing, it's mainly purple in the dye and on my scalp. So I'll just stick with black. My hair is naturally a level 2 almost black. But I do have a few Grays. I probably will not buy this again due to the messiness of the purple that did not stay in my hair. I may buy this brand in the future just not this color. ... show more

Once I found this dye, I have never used any other brand. The plum black is a perfect deep deep purple black and covers grays perfectly. (I've never used any other color so I can only vouch for plum black.) I also use it to tint my brows. 1:1 ratio is easy mixing with 30 developer. Love the color it’s as dark black plum visible in the sun, indoors it just looks jet black. Covered all my grays which was what I wanted I’ve tried others and the grays are still there .
