I have the 2tb versions of both the FALCON and the SWORDFISH. Both have TLC flash memory, which is almost always better than QLC, so good there. Both have decent endurance of 960 TB for a cheap drive, some say this is low but I'd rate it "ok". These are both dramless ssds, meaning that lower power for notebooks, but also lower performance. IOPS are "ok" for a consumer drive, they feel like an SSD. The advertised sequential read of 1800MBps and write of 1200MBps seems about right so far for smaller sequential jobs on the SWORDFISH, while the FALCON really does hit a bit over 3300MBps reads and 1500ish writes! Both use a certain amount of its TLC cells as fast SLC cache, it is pretty good right up until you hit the cache limit, which is pretty generous. Tom's hardware says it is up to 1/3 of the *remaining* unused capacity. Yes, copying a lot of files over to my new SWORDFISH, it did SLOW down to about hard drive speed (~120MB/ps) during a full drive fill up! That is closer to QLC speeds honestly. From reviews, the FALCON does not slow down as much, but I have not tested that. (I had no need to, the FALCON is in a different machine/use and I have just not needed to fill it up with a large sequential file write... probably will not use it that way.) Drives that use SLC cache do recover after flushing the slc cache, so day to day use if fine, and again really only an issue for very large copies. But yes there are reasons for the 970 and 980 Pros from Samsung which don't drop off much at all on full drive writes. I'd say either is a great *capacity* upgrade for older pcie 3.0 notebooks in particular. The FALCON is strange in that it has very fast sequential read speed, but really much lower write speed. Far superior sequential read speed is the only real advantage of the FALCON over the SWORDFISH, but they have the same IOPS rating which dictates how the drive feels in terms of responsiveness, so for regular users the FALCON may only benefit you more when you sometimes copy a lot of large files. If the prices are close get the FALCON, but if it is just for a work laptop there should not be a whole lot of difference. Reviews in the tech press show just a little bit faster loading time for gamers, so, fwiw.

Bought this (1tb swordfish version) to plug into my empty m2 slot and expand my storage, as my existing ssd was almost full. It has worked perfectly on a Win10 laptop, was easy to install and configure. I think this one is about the cheapest m2/NVME drive out there, which is what I wanted. The drive is technically not the fastest out there but is plenty fast for most users and in home pc use you won't notice a difference versus a more expensive super quick one. As someone else has pointed out, the most annoying thing is that this does not come with a tiny m2 screw with which to fasten it down to the motherboard and I had to order one. Would be nice if they included one in the package, but not a big deal if you know this ahead of time as they are cheap.

Purchased strictly to upgrade internal storage for the PS5. Must be a Gen4 NVMe type SSD. Yes there are many other SSD's with slightly higher read/write speeds etc. that cost way more... But why spend more... the PS5 is limited to a specific speed which this ADATA 840 Legend meets. The installation on the PS5 is a Breeze... the hardest part was removing the Top Panel of the Console for the first time. So if you are on the Fence about this SSD working in the PS5....?? Trust me it does... and the performance is Fast just as Fast as the interal SSD built into the PS5

My issue with this hard drive is that it failed for no logical reason other than it has bad chips or something. I had been using it off and on every weekend with my laptop powered off for most of that without any power plugged into it. Data started randomly getting corrupted and now it is causing my system to lock up. I've pulled it out of my system and have plugged it into a USB NVME adapter and am trying to get my data off of it. This is my first NVME that has failed on me and it is disappointing as it's my largest drive. I had my hesitations on buying. Now when I try to submit a warranty request on their website their submission pages to contact them keep on failing. I'll continue trying and will update my review if I am able to get a warranty replacement. Regardless this was massively inconvenient and is proving to be more difficult than any other warranty process I've dealt with in my 20 years of dealing with computers. I don't think I'm going to try Adata again in the future.

I recently came into the possession of a gently used Lenovo 910q mini PC, and decided to turn it into a media center PC. It had no drive being a refurb, but I have parts on hand so didn't worry. I have a handful of SATA M.2 drives, but found out this mini PC only supports NVMe / PCIe M.2 drives in the M.2 bay. As I will only be using this as a jukebox or media center PC, I wanted to spend the bare minimum on a NVMe drive. I found there wasn't enough difference between 120/128GB and 240/250/256GB drives in pricing to insist on a 120GB drive, so went hunting for an affordable 250. The lowest cost drive in this category was this Adata Swordfish. It appears to indeed get 1800mb read speeds, which is a nice improvement when compared to 550mb max for SATA, but the really important factor for me was cost. Few drives came close, especially since it had a coupon. The drive has been running well for a few days. I was concerned the heatsink would be too large to fit in the mini PC case since it's mounted close to flush with the bottom lid, but it barely fits. If I have a drive failure I'll update this review, but as it stands, this is the best cheap NVMe drive I've found. It doesn't appear to be getting very warm, but it also isn't getting a serious workout. Good enough for me.
