Easy to set up, extremely quiet, and the tank water is much more clear than 48 hours ago. This filter came highly recommended when my old one started leaking and I see why! The adjustability means it is gentle enough for my grumpy old betta, too.

The Fluval AC20 is Excellent. Best by far of any HOB filter I've tried. This filter is simple to clean. I really like the leveling knob on the bottom. Filter fits snug and secure. You can change out media to your preference. I use the sponge and Biomax that comes with the package, but I like purigen, instead of carbon, so I use that. Just remember not to add extra media above the max fill line or you won't get a good flow, maybe just dripping, so it's important. Also when you prime it, keep the flow adjust tube all the way to the left and after about 30-40 seconds, adjust the arm to a higher flow. Also love that it came with an intake sponge as I have baby shrimp. The filter is whisper quiet, really effective, built to last. I Love it! ... show more

    • Great little powerhouse of a filter.

This was easier to set up than I thought it would be and keeps the tank nice and clean. I got it to replace another filter that died after a power outage. For some reason it seems like every couple of years I wind up getting a new one but these are at a price point I don't mind it so much.
