I did not buy the specifically for a hot tub but to put under something similar to a hot tub. Walking on it as you would do if it were used for a hot tub was not comfortable. The material is kind of similar to itchy wool. What I did appreciate is that it rolled out nicely and laid completely flat. Is also quite large which was great. You're definitely getting your money's worth, but the material of it really threw me off.

I bought one for under my hot tub which I put directly on the ground with the pad in between. It lasted an entire winter of heavy snow with nothing growing underneath it, and my hot tub being well protected. I liked it so well. I bought a much bigger square one to cover the rest of my backyard with. I don't want to have to keep mowing it! Nice thick rubber back, with a soft felted seeming top. As long as I keep sweeping the dirt and washing it off, things don't grow on it.

I love my hot tub. It was money well spent. No issues with it at all. The bubbles rapidly reduce the temperature, but even a hard side tub will do this. It does take planning.....if it's really cold outside it'll take longer to heat, but it does do a good job holding heat once it's up to the temp you want. I do wish it came with a little seat or something so you can sit higher out of the water if you want. It definitely will make your electric bill go up depending on how much you run it. (About $40/mo for me)I run mine all the time though. I keep the temp set at about 80 or 85, then set it on 104 in the morning if I plan to use it that evening.

Recommended. I have this placed directly on my cement patio which is working just like it's supposed to do. My hot tub is on top of a foam type cushion with this product on the very bottom. I think it will help my hot tub keep it's warmth better in the winter rather than being directly on the cement.
