  • Works how it should, but there's a twist.
Size: 8-33 Eggs Color: Blue
The media could not be loaded. Everything is great, the temp stays, the tray rolls, the humidity stays up and you don't have to do anything with extra water because of the bottles it's very self efficient. The ONLY issue that has arose is when the babies actually hatch and start to crawl around. The fan, has a plastic cover but it is not enough to keep the chicks from pecking and we have had babies being sucked up into the fan, clipped a wing, cut a toe off, ect. Ect. None have died from the fan, but it does cause injury if you do not remove the chicks once their dry. We have removed chicks while others are hatching, by spraying water mist onto the others still hatching and closing lid fast and tight. I have waited for a 3rd hatch to see how numbers have added up. Each hatch we have had a median of 6/8 hatch rate. I would recommend this product if you are on a budget and first starting out, but be warned of the fan. If there is a way to fasten a guard and still let the fan do its job, that would be great. We tried and failed. So let's see what we can do! Thanks. ... show more

  • 4 stars for this incubator
Size: 8-33 Eggs Color: Blue
The media could not be loaded. I received this 8 chicken egg, 33 quail egg incubator on Saturday April 1st. I immediately set it up, leaving the factory settings of 100°. I tested the temperature 1 hour later and it was 99.9°. I put in the smaller 33 hole egg tray in and filled it with coturnix quail eggs. That didn't work (see below). So I put in the 8 hole chicken egg tray and put 2 quail eggs in each slot. That worked. The eggs were able to rotate. 18 days later we had chicks. Pro's: 1. Easy to set up 2. Seems to hold temperature and humidity. 3. Automatic egg turner is a huge plus. Con's: 1. The smaller egg try doesn't work for Jumbo Coturnix quail. The holes are not deep enough for the egg to sit on the floor and they won't turn with the automatic egg turner. 2. Quail get their heads caught in the plastic piece above their heads. I found 3 of them hanging by their heads. It happened over and over until I finally just took the hatched quail out and put them in a brooder. You have to be very careful to take them out once they are big enough to get caught hanging. Probably 12 hours old. I would have liked to keep them all in the incubator until they all hatched. 3. Since you have to open it to remove chicks so they don't hang themselves, the humidity will drop like crazy. This resulted in 1 pip'd chick not breaking out of the shell as it was too hard from the humidity drop. Out of 16 eggs, we hatch 11 live birds and 1 was able to pip (make a hole to breathe) but didn't make it all the way out of the shell. 4 appeared to be unviable, probably not stored properly before incubation. It was my first time hatching eggs from my quail. Overall the experience was awesome and I'm going to keep this little incubator and hatch some more eggs. ... show more

  • Won't hold as many quail eggs as advertized
Size: 8-33 Eggs Color: Blue
4 stars only because the turning plate isn't big enough for quail eggs. I had to manually turn them.

  • Easy to use
Size: 8-33 Eggs Color: Blue
It is kind of small but works great. I've hatched dozens of chicks in it and have had great success. It's nice to not have to sorry about filling water to keep the humidity up and it comes with spare parts if some break which none have uet for me.

  • Came dirty and was poor quality
Size: 8-33 Eggs Color: Blue
My experience with this equipment was not a good one. 1.) The machine was filty. You could 100% tell this item had been previously used. I purchased a brand new item, and received a previously used one. Unfortunately because my eggs had already came, against my better judgment I used the machine. 2.) You have to watch this unit like a hawk. You have to have a Thermometer and a humidity checker inside of the machine because it's not consistent. It Isn't always correct. I would have it set to 100 and it would dip down to 97! To which I would have to raise the temperature temporarily until it got back up, and make sure it didn't over heat. 3.) There is no way at all to keep the humidity constant without checking on it About 3 times a day. If you try to attach the bottles your humidity is going to be too high and you are going to cook the eggs. I literally had to just keep adding a cap full of water a couple times a day to keep it consistent. 4.) My incubator was almost full. Not all the way but almost. So the automatic turner would only work on the inside row, and even then it still misses some. I had to turn my eggs by hand, because the automatic turner was just not able to do it. All in all. Does it work. Yes, but not as advertised, and you really have to devote several times a day to making sure it's where it should be. You definitely get what you paid for. The fact that it was dirty though. That's what made me most upset. I shouldn't have paid full price for a dirty used machine that's half broken. It got the job done, just not as advertised. Edit: The sellers reached out to me and issued a full refund for my order! They were very prompt in their refund. I was a bit annoyed they sent me all the directions as if I did not properly set up my machine at first, and that's why it didn't work well for me. Could have just been an automated thing though. Either way they reached out to me and offered a refund. They did not have to do that. So I do appreciate that they thought enough about their customer to make it right. So I rate this 2 stars now instead of 1. ... show more

  • OUR MISTAKE, IT WAS NOT WHAT WE WANTED, WE GOT CARRIED OUT BY THE FIRST PHOTO
Size: 8-33 Eggs Color: Blue
We made the mistake of buying this incubator very lightly, to replace our spell incubator, made with a resistive bulb, and on/off temperature control (configurable in °F or °C, this incubator is only in °F, in Colombia we use °C, it's time to be making conversions. Our homemade incubator does not rotate the eggs, but we have experience, we raised 30 ducks before the pandemic, which we had at home until we gave them away to farms with lakes. We are now supporting INDIGENOUS PEOPLE FROM SILVIA CAUCA, COLOMBIA, incubating 30 chicken eggs, but for not reading carefully, we bought lightly. It doesn't work for us, it doesn't fit 8 eggs, what a mistake. We know that returning it to the United States, from Cali Colombia, costs more than the incubator itself, and we cannot afford it financially, so I think we will lose our money. Excuse me for the English, help me with a translator, I hope it is understood. ... show more
