This replaces a Hayward / AquaRite generator controller, however, if you're looking to build your own system, all you need to complete it in addition to this is a salt cell and a few odds and ends. So, whether you're looking to replace a failed unit, or build a DIY chlorine generator for your saltwater pool, this will handle 3, 9, and 12 size salt cells. The overall build quality of everything down to the circuit boards seems excellent. If you're getting this as a replacement for a failed unit, installation should be a piece of cake, merely a matter of putting it in place and connecting all the wires. For the money, it seems like quite a deal versus buying an OEM unit, and so it represents quite a value. I really don't have any complaints about the unit, as it seems to be working just fine right now. If anything changes, I'll update this. 5 stars. ... show more

It is exactly the same size as the old unit. It can slide directly into the old mounting screw. Installation and configuration is completed in 5 minutes.
