    • Unexpected Case use for dog who chews through hoses
I have a rain water collection barrel that use to water my chickens. we recently got a new livestock dog and he apparently likes to chew through hoses. He has ruined multiple hoses so i bought these as a deterrent for him. So far so good. he has not attempted to chew on these and they work fine. I do not coil them up and store them. They stay fairly permanently on the rain water barrel and the chicken water dispenser. I will keep an eye for rust and update if i see any but so far that hasnt been an issue. ... show more

    • Much lighter than I expected, but doesn't leak or kink, and feels well-made
This 15ft hose feels very well-made, and fit onto my standard outdoor spigot perfectly. It doesn't seem to kink, and the black rubber housings around each end look like they will do a good job reinforcing the most high-stressed areas of the average hose. One thing I will caution: the interior diameter is smaller than a standard garden hose. If you are in an area with relatively low water-pressure, this is a good thing because it will help the resulting water pressure feel much greater coming out of the hose (albeit a smaller stream). If you are trying to buy this for the primary purpose of draining an electric hot water heater or something in an area with hard water and possible mineral build-up, this smaller diameter might make it hard to drain all the particulate that's built up on the bottom of the water heater if there are larger pieces in there. But overall, this hose earns a solid 5 stars and I'll update the review down the road if if wears out prematurely. ... show more

    • Not a true stainless steel hose...
We originally ordered this hose for our daughter to keep on her tour bus so that they can fill their water tank a little more easily. The stainless steel covering is especially attractive as the hose can stand up to the abuse that being on the road can subject it to. On unpacking, we realized that the stainless steel is just a covering over the latex core, and it is very thin and lightweight braided stainless steel. It does offer some protection as we threw it around a bit the first time we filled the tank, and the brass fittings are very robust and secure, but you definitely do not want to stretch this hose past it's length for any reason as I can see where the braid would start to unravel around the hose. Other than that, a very straightforward and usable hose at a decent price point. Given the choice, I would use this at my home rather than my original intended use. ... show more

I attached this 15' stainless steel hose to my current black heavy duty hose to do my watering here in Florida. Rubber hoses get soft here in the constant sun & the color eventually comes off of the hose onto your hands and anything it touches. This stainless steel hose is very lightweight and easy to use. I love that I don't have to undo the nasty black rubber hose anymore. So far, so good and I would recommend. ... show more

I love these and I have 2. They absolutely never kink which is a big problem I have with normal hoses. The metal outer casing has kept it from being consumed by the sun and it's very handy to have on the rack by the hose bib.

    • only time will tell if this lightweight hose will actually hold up
As I'm not familiar with 'materials of the advanced craft', I'm both impressed but also can't help but raising a few questions. Can such a lightweight garden hose actually be rated 'Heavy Duty'? Judging by the sturdiness of the brass connectors, it does look promising. I also wish the product description, and perhaps pictures, would include how it is constructed inside. What is the interior diameter of the hose? How thin are its walls, and yet be as strong as indicated? How can they really hold up to the rated 600PSI burst rating? My only factual concern is that is impossible to determine the interior diameter. My original intent was to use this as a lead hose to a garden hose manifold, which i located some 12 feet from the spigot. Will my watering needs get sufficient flow after I replace the aging 5/8 hose with this one? I'm eager to test this as soon as outside temperatures permit it. In conclusion, based on description and how the product seems properly manufactured, I'd recommend it to anyone who desires a lightweight, flexible hose where a short run is needed. Especially for applications at the nozzle end, say washing a car or irrigating garden boxes, etc. ... show more
