    • Really Cool Hose
The description says expandable, but don’t be confused. This isn’t one of the hoses that shrinks up to a very short hose. Expansion is not that much, but the hose rocks. The hose is surprisingly flexible. The hose will not kink. I have had several hoses that claim to be kink-proof. They might be for a while, but in my experience, they can kink and eventually they stay kinked. That will not happen to this hose. The connectors appear to be quite sturdy. Do note: Stainless steel doesn’t mean it is safe to drive over. That would probably permanently flatten the hose. I give this hose a strong recommendation. Hose is durable and well made with just the right amount of flex. The connectors affix securely and don't leak anymore than a regular hose fitting. We use this hose in conjunction with another hose of similar size and it couples well for our purposes. The fact that it is a metal hose is a bit deceiving as it's not steel inside but some sort of nylon or rubber, just has the flexible steel sleeve cover. ... show more

    • Light, flexible, easy to coil
What I want in a hose is one that doesn't tend to kink when you're using it. The metal-clad hose resists kinking. If you've not used a metal hose before, you need to know that it is not heavy. It seems lighter than a heavy rubber hose. On this hose, both ends have a plastic/rubber sleeve to resist bending or breaking. The threaded ends seem substantial. The faucet end of the hose includes a gasket, but several extra gaskets come along with it. Update: I'd knock off a star if I could. The hose is great in use, but changing nozzles or other attachments is difficult. Where you normally have a decent surface to grip at the hose end, as when you're taking off a nozzle, this hose has a relatively thin serrated ring, maybe 3/16" wide. That's not wide enough for a good grip, especially if the nozzle body is wider than the ring. Honest, to change nozzles (or other attachments) I have to resort to a pair of Channelocks pliers to grip that little ring. Full disclosure: My wife and I are in our 70s, so our hands may be weak, but we can't remove a nozzle with our hands. The hose comes tightly coiled in a surprisingly small box. In the box there is also a reel of what appears to be plumber's tape, which is typically used for sealing the threads of a threaded plumbing joint, like where a shower head screws onto the pipe. I've never used plumber's tape with a garden hose, but I assume it could be used to prevent dripping where the hose connects to the faucet or to a nozzle, say. But those are usually temporary connections, so taping those seems like overkill. ... show more
