I’ve had this for over a year now and although I was originally unimpressed, time has borne out that these are not as bad as I thought. I’ve had more opportunity to use this kit, and while I still say that the die holders are poor and I did upgrade them, the dies themselves have come in and done their job over and over. I recommend these to get you started, then purchase good quality individual dies as you grow. Every time I accomplish a task with them I’m happy that I had them on hand to do so. Old comment: I bought this just over 6 months ago now. This is the type of tool that you're only going to use once in a while, that's just the nature of the beast unless you're in business and need to be tapping on a steady basis. So it's taken me awhile to get to using other dies and taps in this kit and now I have a better sense of the quality of the dies in here; It's low. My suggestion is, don't skimp on a tool like this. Buy one good quality piece as you need it. if you need another size later then buy another one. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration. It did work a couple of times for me but every job was an issue. I don't recommend, but YMMV. I’m skeptical but I bought this for a specific project (knowing I’ll likely have other uses for it) and it worked great.     • Here's a Set that's tough to beat.
Firstly - I usually only work with Plastics, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a Tap/Die Set. I also only use 1 or 2 differing sizes, so I could have chosen a smaller set. For the price, I figured I'd try this and won't be upset if it only worked 1 time. The Set arrived quickly, and as expected, the boxing and plastic case were nothing to write home about. It did come with good directions, and all of the tools you'll need to do the job. Once I did try it out, I was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy, fit and finish, and especially the performance. I have used this on stainless steel as well, and it worked flawlessly. I'm finding too, that lately I am much more confident in buying less expensive, off-Brand items.     • It's worth the money
I bought this, worried I would just end up snapping the first tap I tried, but was pleasantly surprised I used a lot of oil, and quarter turns at a time, backing off a half turn to clean out the slivers. Then added more oil here and there. And i ended up with a decent thread thru 3/4 inch cast iron. The bolt felt slightly loose, but it snuggled up nicely in the end The T handle does loosen up as you work, but that more of an annoyance that a problem. Just be mindful and keep tightening it back up. I believe the value exceeds it price as long as you have patience and a little oil ... show more

Needed a decent tap and die set for general use around the house. This is a good product to have on hand for occasional use. Seems to be well made and accurate and should last for many years if you're careful. This was my first tap and die set. purchased it, opened it, watched a youtube video, tapped a metric M6 1.00. Purchased a screw at local hardware. screwed right in. amazing. all the things I stripped screws on and lived with it. My limited knowledge admitted, I think this is a good set for my needs.
