It seems well made. Takes two hands to turn it so I don’t expect any internal bypass. It’s tight. You might want to put some silicone on the ball before installing it.

I used 2 inch pipe and it did not fit , snug I applied primer and then glue like , waited 2 hours and turned water pump on I had a small leak between the valve and the pipe

    • Spend the extra $20 on a Jandy, these leak.
Installation was as routine as it gets, valve was fine for an hour or so, then started to leak out the gasket area under the ring of screws on the front of the valve. Once solvent welded, these are not particularly reusable, and I’m not in the habit of tossing $40 into the trash instead of my pool to find I have to redo the job, and buy another, more expensive model that I should’ve purchased in the first place. I needed three valves, bought two Jandys, and decided to try this brand out for the third valve, just a valve that never needs to be opened unless I need to backflush the filter. I’m going to return this if the tightening of the circular screw pattern doesn’t stop the leak. It’ll be interesting to see if they will refund my money for this substandard valve when it’s got glued in and cut off 1-1/2” pipe stubs coming out of the ports. ... show more

These valves leak where they are screwed together, a lot! I bought two and both of them leak!! From the very first time I turned my pump on. And as you must know, because you’re considering this product, installing these valves are an expensive and time consuming. I made a HUGE mistake buying these. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! ... show more
