  • Vibrant Blue Filament – Great Quality
Color: Ocean Blue Size: 1 kg
This blue filament is a standout! The color is rich, bold, and exactly what I was hoping for—perfect for projects that need to make a statement. The filament feeds smoothly, with no tangles or breaks, and prints with excellent consistency. The finished prints have a glossy, professional-looking finish, making it ideal for decorative pieces, functional items, or prototypes. I also appreciate how well it adheres to the build plate with minimal warping. It works wonderfully with standard PLA settings, and the layer bonding is solid. Whether you're a hobbyist or professional, this filament is a winner. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add a striking blue to their 3D printing palette! Rating: 5/5 ... show more

  • Can't believe what I've been missing
This is my first roll of 3D Fuel filament. I bought it because I wanted to see if it was everything the company claims it is. Well, I can say it certainly is. I used this to print holders for battery operated tools to organize in a friend's service vehicle. He mounted them, and has been riding all over some of the worst roads in the state. Amazingly, all are intact, and show no obvious signs of cracks or issues. Another brand of filament I tried for these didn't hold up 2 days. Not to mention, the color is absolutely beautiful. It is considerably richer, and brighter than any other filament (of the same color) I have used before. I can't wait to try some of their other colors. As for things that really matter, the filament is considerably easier to work with than other PLA+ brands I've used. It flows very smoothly, and evenly, and adheres beautifully to my PEI bed. It does need more heat (230C* actual nozzle temp on my Ender 3), but it only needs 45C* on the bed. It seems to bond (and blend) well with previous layers, and so far, I've noticed considerably less issues (like side wall blobs, stringing, etc) as compared to other PLA+ I've used. Oh, I say "actual temp" because I've measured my nozzle temp with 3 different IR temp guns, and know exactly what my nozzle temp is..as compared to the screen temp. I love the fact it's made in the USA, although I'm not excited about the price. However, for a top of the line filament, I guess it is what it is. Unfortunately despite my desire to now use this filament exclusively, the price will keep it held for the jobs that truly need the strength and beauty of top quality filament. ... show more

  • Excellent Stuff!
Color: Olive Green Size: 1 kg
Just got my printer and have been on it hours everyday learning. I've tried about 5 or so different PLA's and this stuff is really good shiz! I can just tell by quality of prints right out the gate. Ender 3 S1 pro running Klipper (Sonic Pad version). Running it at 200c and 80-100 and it goes does like butter on bread. It's got a very hard crisp feel to it too. Very strong hard plastic in the final print. I will be ordering more for sure! One I run this print a few rounds well see how it holds up to heat...Im thinking I won't be let down. It's a lil pricey but so far worth every penny. Made in the U.S.A. to...always good to see that! ... show more

  • *Update* OIL is exuding from the filament?!?? *Original* This PLA+ is "luxurious," if that's a thing
Color: Aquamarine Size: 1 kg
**Oil is extruding!?!?** I bought this a little over 12 months ago, and last used it about 6 months ago. Since then, it's been stored in a vacuum sealed bag (FoodSaver) with desiccant in a cool, dark, dry cabinet. I just pulled it out for a new project, and I find the spool extruding oil?!?! It's not from the desiccant pack as this was in the center of the spool not touching the filament. I have other spools from 3D Fuel (Cobalt Blue and Fire Engine Red) that are just fine (i.e. no oil) stored in the same place under the same conditions, so it may be a characteristic of the Aquamarine dye formula only. Why still a 3-star review? Well, I didn't catch this until after I started printing, and it took me a while to figure out why the initial layer wasn't uniform (I wanted to watch the printer put down a few more layers to see if there was a mechanical issue with my printer) and why there was this liquid substance collecting around the filament path. Although the first layer does look horrible, the outer/bottom surface turned out okay, and the overall print turned out quite good. So the unaffected adhesion characteristics support my suspicion that the oil is part of the filament formula. Although the outcome was unaffected, I took stars off because I would rather not have the oil residue on my printer. My daughter loves this color, so I'm torn on whether I'd buy this again. **Original Review** As far as PLA, I find myself willing to pay a little more for PLA+ for the additional properties such as better toughness/shear strength, better adherence/build quality, ease of use/less stringiness, etc. Nevertheless, 3-D Fuel's PLA+ offerings are more expensive than other companies' PLA+. However, 3-D Fuel's offerings have a "luxuriousness" that may be worth the extra price. For example, Overture makes a PLA+ (PLA Pro) that is stronger and easier to work with than regular PLA (and I like Overture PLA Pro a lot). But Overture's colors aren't as rich/deep (i.e. the material is more translucent/glassy), and is very rigid with a glass/ceramic like sharpness, especially at edges. Overture's PLA+ is strong and can resist much more tension than regular PLA, but rigidity means that it doesn't flex/deform much before suddenly fracturing. This is good for items that require structural integrity, but not so good for pieces that will also be seen and/or handled (need to look good and feel good, too). I use this PLA mainly for building items that need to be strong but won't be seen or handled (i.e. prototypes, hidden components). 3-D Fuel's PLA+ is just as easy to use (albeit it needed a little more "dialing it" than Overture's offering to reduce the stringiness), but the color is richer/deeper, and the depth is more opaque (which would be a negative if lithophanes are your thing), and the layering is smoother and more flowing. In comparison, pieces have a more compliant, less abrasive feel in the hand and a richer and more refined appearance to the eye. As for structural integrity, 3-D Fuel's PLA+ tends to flex a bit more before it reaches it's fracture point, but it still much stronger than regular PLA. I use this PLA+ for "production" builds that will be handled and/or visible. This is my go-to PLA+ for vibrant colors. Additionally, this PLA+ can also be annealed for additional strength and temperature tolerance, but that's an entirely different skillset/art to design and accommodate for the shrinkage and warping. (Without annealing, there is little to no shrinkage under typical FDM printing, and models are very true to size/design). ... show more
