I'm new to the 3D printing space, but my husband has been printing for a while on his Prusa. When I came to him with the idea of printing word-tile-puzzle pieces to teach Latin to my class of 4th graders, he was a fan! We printed several demo pieces with the black PETG filament he had in the printer, and made model changes until I got the results I was looking for. He suggested I switch to PLA, and I needed a different color. The black was so shiny that there was not enough definition to easily read the letters and small words. This gray PLA gave me the results I was looking for. It has a very low shine, making it easy to look at and read. It extruded cleanly and evenly and all the pieces are precise. We use a heated bed with a smooth (non textured) plate. The outer corner did warp up slightly during the print, but we don't have an enclosure and that's normal. I'll add a throw-away block on that corner of the bed. The color is light enough that the recessed letters are darker, making them stand out well. The smaller words do have nubs where the nozzle disconnected, but I fixed that by printing the piece text-side-down, which also gave a smoother surface. I also have text on the front of the piece, which is very well defined. I'm very pleased with this filament and will use it for all my pieces!

Sunlu is one of the largest manufacturers of filament in the world. They make an absolutely excellent product. So much so , that many of the smaller names in the industry buy from Sunlu , either private label , or simply repackage them on their own. That should tell you right there that they are at the top of their game. The spools are neatly wound , the colors are vibrant , the printed results are phenomenal with no stringing or warping. The spools and filament perform perfectly 99% of the time. Id have to say any errors , if any at all are most likely user error. I only use Sunlu filament in all my prints because you just cant find a better option. They check off all the boxes.

**edit to say found issue & fixed was not filament & worked perfectly afterwards** I have had so many issues when printing with the red Pla.... I've never had any issue with this brand... Some of the issues I had with this color were: not sticking, clogging, breaking.... I raised the temp & that helped some. But the retraction using this was HORRIBLE. That is where it messed up majority of the time. I was half the filament just trying to dial it in fail after fail. I was really excited to use the red but not so much now

I had high hopes for the product, but I really can't say much good about it. I had major issues with stringing, even with my hotend temperature turned down to a measily 175 degrees C! I tried everything from 205 and down and it seemed that the lower the temp, the better. My printer eventually stopped me from going any lower once I got to 170, but it was still stringing even at 172. I have combing and all the other tricks enabled, but can't get this stuff to print well, despite having no problems with other brands of filament. I forgot to take a pic of another print I did before cleaning it up, but it had a very similar result, albeit slightly thinner strings due to printing the whole thing at 175. Bed adhesion is also pretty bad, especially for smaller features. It always lifts off the bed as it lays down the first line, curling up into the air to then be hit by the extruder on its next pass around. Things get all messed up, so I have to watch the first layer like a hawk. If you don't mind spending an hour or so cleaning up every print and constant monitoring of the first layer, this filament will probably work for you, but it's not for me. That being said, once you do get it to print and do get it cleaned up, it seems to hold up just fine. It's working well so far for this cupholder I made for my daughter's bike trailer.

I had never purchased this brand before. But I will again. The filament is terrific. I like it just as much as the Bambu lab filament. Great price too and a really good selection of colors. A+.
