  • Worked amazing.
Color: 1kg-orange Rainbow
Prints wonderfully and looks amazing.

  • Works great!
Color: 250g X 4 Metal Colors Bundle
I wasn't expecting much but the material works great. I've had no issues at all printing with them on an older Ender 3. If you're having issues, I would suggest drying out the filament/spool first. I use an old Oster toaster, run it at just shy of 150F or warm for about 30 minutes. Also make sure you're using a newer extruder nozzle, it makes a difference (Brass - 0.4mm). I'm also printing on glass and use the Elmers purple glue stick and my prints stick on really good. To take off the print if it's really stuck on, I'll use a water/alcohol mix in a small spray bottle and spray the edges of the print. Then I'll use a metal spatula to help push it off and let the alcohol/water work it's way under. If it's easier, sometimes I'll take off the printing bed cover with the print and pry it off at a table. Another tip, if the print is thin enough to fit an angled snipper, I'll use the snippers to gently pry one end of the print off the cover. Once it lifts off a little bit, the whole print should start to separate. My settings are: extruder at 215C and bed at 55C. ... show more

  • I would buy again
Color: 250g X 6 Silk Pla Bundle
I like to start with the bad and end with the good. The print quality is ok. It's not as good as any of my other filaments and the top and bottom leaves something to be desired. know it's not my printer or my profiles I am printing on a Bambu labs printer. The bottom layers of the print are sort of 2 tone and the top comes out slightly rough but this is something I have seen in other metallic filaments . But none of these issues seem to really impact anything. The filament is also weak. The good part about the filament is that it prints easy. I used with AMS system and printed just fine. No clogging or stringing. Only print fail I had was due to STL having minimal contact with bed. The colors also look great when printed and overall bed adhesion wasn't a problem. Filament was also wound very well and the only tangling I had was due to user error. Filament also seems pretty sturdy and not brittle. My print quality may have been better if slowed the print as I was printing at like 200mm. But I would definitely order from again. I am sure slowing down and changing layer heights would fix the quality issues. ... show more

  • Looks great, wound great
Color: 1kg-basic-rainbow
This nostalgic beauty took 8 hrs to print. The spool is wound mechanically just like thread and I didnt have to babysit the machine after the 1st layer. I did have a little trouble with bed adhesion, but I just started 3d printing three days ago. I just turn my fan down to 50% for the 1st layer and brim and worked like a charm. Can't wait to print my marble run. I wished they sold this in fast change so I could do small figures in the same colors ... show more

  • Impressed with this sample pack
I’m new to 3D printing and thought the six color sample set was a good starting point for using silk PLA. When I received my set, I noticed one was brittle. So, instead of opening them all up, I decided to return them. To my surprise, I was sent a replacement at NO CHARGE! My second set worked wonderfully. I printed on both an Anycubic i3 Mega and an Anycubic Kobra 2 Pro. No issues printing, even at speeds of 240 mm/s. I’m happy with my prints and definitely their customer service. ... show more

  • Amazing shine once you get the settings right. Updated.
Color: 500g X 3 Silk Silver/Copper/Gold
2nd Update: I'm deleting my first update. The extrusion issue was not the fault of the filament after all. My first review stands, although I will knock off a star for one reason. This filament is super brittle. It normally isn't a big deal, but when you get down to the last 20% of the spool where it is wound tightly, depending on what kind of a printer you have and how the filament feeds, you may encounter a big problem. For the Ender 3, you need around 2 inches of fairly straight filament to get it to feed properly. I had this filament snap on me at least a dozen times as I was trying to gently straighten out a piece by hand. I have never dealt with filament this brittle before. I almost gave up but managed to get it fed. You do pay a slight premium for this filament, but it isn't your normal dull everyday filament so I don't get all wound up about that. It is a bit more temperamental than standard filament and requires some adjustments from normal PLA settings, at least that has been my experience. Mine is printing about 98% perfectly with the temperature at 220C (bed temp of 60C is working just fine). I'm thinking about actually trying a different print with that run up to 225C or 230C because I get the very rare (like one pass in 100 at most) where the layer width for the one strand doesn't lay down quite as flat and uniform as the rest. Could be an issue with filament consistency, or it could just be that this wants to be a little warmer and I'm running it right at the bottom end. Now on to the great stuff. This material is REALLY shiny. It looks fantastic! I've printed short flat things and tall skinny things and it is interesting how the finish is so different, yet still cool for both. I printed a fairly large coin (2" diameter) flat on my Ender 3 and the result was stunning. The golden shine is really bright. You would never get anything this cool from regular filament. Then I printed the same coin on its end. It was a markedly different type of shine. It was a darker golden color and not quite as shiny but it still had this really cool look to it. They ship these in vacuum sealed zip lock bags, always a nice touch and I wish everyone did this. Overall I really love this stuff and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. I'm going to play a little bit more with the settings and see if I can get it dialed in to perfection, but I am happy with the results I am getting already. If I find better settings I'll update this review if I can. ... show more
