I replaced the rubber gasket on my LG washing machine. There are 2 rings with springs that hold the gasket on. All went well until it was time to put the rings back on. Well....the tips on this tool were too thick to fit into the ends of the spring on the inner ring. I spent over 3 hours on YouTube trying everyone else's tricks with zip ties, etc. but nothing worked. I even tried using zip ties to make larger rings, but that didn't work either. (See below as to why.) I finally called a repair parts place in town to see if they had another pair, but they didn't. The guy suggested grinding the tips! (OMG! Brilliant!) Worked like a charm! (Luckily we have a belt grinder!) I then had it installed in 15 minutes! The other problem, that I don't understand, is when the spring is stretched as far as this tool will stretch it, it is still JUST barely big enough, and you still have to muscle the band on. Why can't they make the tool so it will stretch the spring with a little extra room to spare??? If they had, my hack with making larger rings with zipties would have worked. The tool worked fine on the second outer ring because the rings at the end of the spring were larger. So it is a great concept that eventually worked, but they could be fantastic with just a few tweaks! ... show more

I bought these just to install a ring to my washer. They just didn't spread in wide enough for what I intended for these to do. Good quality though.

    • Works fine for the outer door spring, but not the right tool for the inner spring
Product came quick. I was super excited to have it handy so I could change out our washer seal which had a lot of mold on it. While the product says it's for the inner and outer spring clamp, it really isn't for the inner spring. At least you can't use in the correct manner. On the inner spring, you're supposed to use the little eyelet and the one loop on the spring - but you can only use the two hooks on the spring itself making it extremely difficult to connect everything. Somehow, I was able to but it's not as easy as it should have been. This tool is totally fine and easy to use on the outer spring and appears to made specifically with the right width in mind for it. BTW, it isn't just this particular tool. All others sold on Amazon have the exact same issue. Good luck...it is possible to make it work but not as easy as it should be. ... show more
