The top line is this is a very light easy to pack unit that is a much better travel/emergency EVSE than lugging around a 40A 14-50 unit. I mostly use these when I go to AirBnBs or stay with friends and need a top off before public charging. Basically not all that often but it’s great when I need it. Most brand. And EVSEs that support Level 1 won’t charge at 16A at 120v since they include a 5-15 plug and those are limited to 12A by standard and code. They usually will do 16A at 240 and 12A at 120 since a 6-20 to 5-15 adapter is assumed and can pass a UL/ETL/etc listing. The other option is having swappable pig tails that sets the max current. This unit supports 16A at 120v which is very handy. It’s the most you can ever pull from a standard plug and net about a 2kW per hour charging rate before any conversion losses. Charging overnight should net about 20% in most EVs. The wiring is all of the correct size and should stand up fine under 16A load. The 6-20 to 5-15 whip is 14AWG but rated for 105C. In a commercial setting 14AWG is just fine for a 16A continuous load. Everything else is 12AWG (thicker) and will never post a problem. The case is nice and should keep the cables from creating a mess but I wouldn’t just chuck the EVSE across the room. On the charging side I’ve been charging my car for several hours and it is just gently warm as expected with what is mostly a glorified extension cord. I didn’t see any GFCI specs listed in the manual but there should be one. When I have a moment I’ll try to test that and update this with the result.

For the vast majority of EV owners they don't need 48 amp 240 volt charging at home which charges most EV's at about 15% per hour. This charging connector is up to 16 amp 240 volt which comes to 5% per hour for most EV's on the market today - that's fast enough as you just replenish the charge that you used that day. It comes with the outlet adapter for use on 120 volt outlets (typical home wall outlet) and 240 volt outlets if you install one. The simplest way to get 5% per hour charging out of this connector is to convert a dedicated circuit outlet to 20 amp 240 volt which you may be able to do with the existing wiring if it is 12 gauge wire as you just need 2 hots and 1 ground for a 6-20 outlet. You would need to change the breaker to a double pole breaker. Consult with a licensed electrician if you don't know this stuff but for those that do this is simple. This charging connector allows you to set up to 5% per hour charging at a very low cost. Onto the product itself. It is good quality and all cabling looks to be to proper specifications, at 16 amps max I'm not super worried about it. These AC charging connectors are basically glorified extension cords with a little bit of smart electronics on it. It's the electronics that would be the failure point so only time will tell. The wires itself will hold up. It's not UL listed but is ETL and again at 16 amps it isn't an issue for me. Easy to install and comes with a wall mount and mounting hardware since it is best to not have it hanging by its own weight as it may pull out of the receptacle or partially out causing a bad connection and overheating - that's a low risk anyway, just make sure it is firmly plugged in. Simple to operate. For NACS equipped vehicles you will need a J1172 to NACS adapter but those only run $10-$15 and your EV probably came with one anyway. For a low cost at home charging solution this works great.

I've been using this charger with a 2025 Honda Prologue - so my results (to the extent they're vehicle specific) should like apply to other Ultium platform cars like the Blazer EV, Acura ZDX, Lyriq, etc). Fist, speaking to the overall quality, I think this is fine. The charger unit itself seems decently well constructed. The cables are well attached, the cord insulance seems hefty and resilient, charging head and attachment clip with seem strong enough to hold up to routine use. A small simple wall bracket (and some screws/anchors) were also included. I've tried it as both a Level 1 and Level 2, on both a regular 120V outlet, and also using the Nema 6-20 plug (connected to my 14-50 socket with an adapter). It works reliably, and has established connection with the car faultlessly each time. I also haven't had any instances of it shutting off unexpectedly. There are a number of charge rate settings - though what's available to you (especially at L1) may depend on your car. The Prologue, for instance, only L1 charges at 8 or 12 amps, depending on dash setting - so nothing is gained by setting this to 13A) A basic carry bag is included, and the instructions are clear - though you'll probably not need them for much.
