I keep snakes and geckos, and I use lots of moss for humid hides and lay boxes. It is surprisingly green compared other brands of moss I've gotten. I thought it might be painted, but I didn't see any colors run when soaked in water. There is no label saying any other information besides moss, so I don't know what kind of process it's been through. It may be worth rinsing just to be sure. The packaging was sufficient. The moss was a bit dusty, but all moss can be dusty. It holds moisture really well and looks really lively. My reptiles love it so far. The only thing is that there were quite a few twigs and even a plastic ribbon mixed in. You will need to go through it just make sure nothing odd slips through that could hurt your pets. You put this stuff in his enclosure, and he ether has fun with it, or he doesn't. My guy uses it for bedding, and at the end of 30 days it hits the garbage with his monthly cage cleaning.

The media could not be loaded. The smell was great, as it’s foresty and helped to mask the smell of hamsters. The moss was a great touch to my enclosure, solidifying the naturalistic theme I was going for. My hamster seemed to love it, and would even move some moss into his den haha. Even aside from using it for hamster enclosures, it’s suitable enough to use for crafts as well! The only thing is that when you take out the moss, it’s compacted into chunks so you have to pick them apart to be able to spread it, but that’s just a given with any bedding that’s compacted into a bag like this. ... show more

You get a lot of moss for the amount of monry it is. But when it came the box wasnt even closed properly, bugs couldve gotten into the moss. Another thing is it smells horrible it will stink up your entire room just from the cage and bag. Id say stick to niteangel if you dont want your room smelling like nature ... show more

Way way more moss than expected. Definitely plenty to last a while, if using properly. My hamster seems to enjoy it and has put it in certain areas kinda as a cushion/bed.
