I bought two of these chairs for my son and daughter. They arrived in great condition. My teenage kids actually did the assembly themselves, and didn't have any issues. I was surprised at how comfortable the chairs are; my husband and I have Steelcase Leap V2 chairs, and these chairs have a lot (maybe all?) of the same adjustments and the comfort level is similar. We all weigh under 130lbs so I can't comment on the comfort level for anything above that, but the chairs are sturdy, and I'm sure they would be comfortable for most people. The fabric is smooth and soft; if you have cats, watch out because they can pull picks in the fabric climbing the back (but the same thing happens to the Leap chairs, so...). It's just cosmetic; the fabric didn't tear. I used a sweater pick-puller and pulled the threads back under and now my daughter just throws her blanket over the chair when she's not using it, so no problem. My son had an issue with his chair within the warranty period, probably a manufacturing defect, so I contacted the seller. They got right back to me, like amazingly quick, had me send a few photos of the issue, and took care of us right away. What great customer service! In just a few days he was back to business. CLATINA Office Supply is the name of the seller, and I can't recommend them enough. Awesome customer service!

First, I’ll start by saying that I really wanted to love this chair. I really didn’t want to spend the money on something much more expensive and this seemed to have comparable features for a pretty bargain price. Unfortunately, the first problem I noticed was when I was assembling the chair. I noticed a few cracks on plastic underside of the seat. The plastic seems very thick so I’m not sure how that became damaged before it reached me. Given the location of the damage, I was actually willing to accept it if it wasn’t going to cause an issue, but a few days of use and I’ve noticed the crack near the front edge of the seat seems to be spreading, probably due to stress. I’m in the process of returning it now because I really don’t trust that it won’t become a big issue and would rather just return it inside my window rather than dealing with getting it replaced through the warranty down the road. I’ve decided to return rather than replace it for a few other reasons. 1. The seat wobbles a bit on the right side, which is annoying. This could be due to the crack I mentioned earlier causing the seat to not fit snugly enough against the rails that allow you to adjust the depth. 2. The lever under the right side of the chair (the one that adjusts height) has a lot of play to it. It really wiggles around. I’m not sure if they are all like that or I just received a defective one but it really doesn’t feel solid and I could easily see that being something that just breaks after awhile. 3. The lumber support doesn’t have much range to where you can set it. I’m 6’ 1 and I really can’t get it to a position where it feels like it’s in the right spot for me so I don’t really feel like it’s helping my posture. I will say on the positive side that the seat is very comfortable. It’s a very comfortable chair overall, I just don’t know how ergonomic it really is if you’re above average height because of the small range of adjustment for the lumber support. YMMV. The plastic is very thick and seems strong so I wouldn’t judge it based on my experience. If something is already cracked it’s going to be compromised, and I received a damaged unit. It doesn’t matter what something is made from, weakest link and all that. If everything was undamaged I would expect the materials of the chair to hold up very well overall. I’d still say to give it a shot if you’re thinking about buying this chair. It’s likely that the issues I had with the wobble, crack, and loose height lever were all due to defect. Overall it really is a comfortable chair that seems to be made from very thick, durable materials for a very competitive price. I really would just get a replacement sent despite the problems with the unit I received if the back support felt like it fit me. I don’t blame companies for having some defective units. It happens. Unfortunately, I think I’ll have to get something that fits me a bit better since my primary concern in getting an ergo chair was improving my sitting posture rather than pure comfort level. You might not have that issue depending on your height so don’t necessarily discount this chair if you’re on the fence because of that.

Edit: Chair can cause butt pain if not sitting in an ergonomic position. Recommend sitting in an ergonomic position and adding an additional seat cushion. The chair that the Clatina is based off of (Steelcase Leap) also has issues with causing butt pain. For reference: I bought the fabric back for $159 and the headrest for $29. I am 5'7" and weigh 120lbs. I struggled for a while with getting the casters into the base - make sure to push the casters all the way into the base so that none of the metal peg is showing. As for getting the back on straight, I would recommend a rubber mallet (I used a wooden dowel wrapped in a thick sweater) to help get the back aligned. You will need to hold down once it's aligned and screw in the screw for the back. I received the chair just today so I don't have anything much to say outside of first impressions but compared to my previous chair, I fit this chair much better (I think it might be too small for taller and larger people). As a result, I sit up much straighter and in a better position than before. I have not received my headrest yet but now I'm not entirely sure if I will install the headrest, due to it possibly forcing my head forward out of ergonomic position. My previous chair was a mesh back and I decided I'd try out the fabric back due to some recommendations and also due to the cheaper price at the time of purchase (fabric back was $159 and mesh back was $199). I'm not entirely sure if I would choose the fabric back again. I think I've gotten too used to a mesh back chair and as a result I'm very aware of my body heat now using this fabric back chair. I think I'll get used to it eventually though. The chair vaguely smells a little bit like paint but it's not too distracting and I'm sure it'll disappear over time. All the parts received were undamaged
