    • Heavy, but I expect it to last a long time.
I needed a transformer to connect to my video doorbell so I don't need to keep replacing the batteries, and this is working great so far. It's very heavy, but that's because these are built with extra copper to run continuously for years without failing or overheating. Because of the weight, it is meant to be screwed in to keep it from falling out. It fit my outlet just fine after I removed the original center plate screw. So far my doorbell is working well with it, so no complaints here! ... show more

I needed a transformer to power my wifi doorbell camera. They recommended 16V 30VA but I opted for this 24V 40VA model just to be sure as many reported issues even with 30VA. This transformer is large and heavy but definitely puts out enough power to pass my doorbell's "pre-record" power test. This adapter worked perfectly with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2. It was pretty easy to figure out, however, I gave it four stars because it came with no instructions. It is also pretty heavy. I’m sure it has to be heavy due to the voltage, but it makes it difficult for plugging into the wall. It does come with a screw to semi permanently mount it to the wall plug you’re using. This is a very heavy duty transformer that puts out 27VAC no-load. It works for RING and any other camera or accessory that requires 24VAC. It has a securing screw to hold it on your outlet so it can’t fall out. The larger size should help keep it running cooler and longer.
