  • Awesome Addition to Unifi Protect
If you a Unifi Protect user (via UDM Pro, Cloud Key Gen2+, etc) OR looking to jump into unifi protect, cause your tired of RING or other devices hosting your streaming data, this is idea. Self Hosted Camera data is key for privacy. Overall Quality is outstanding. Lens/camera has a decently wide angle giving a great field of view. Covers almost my entire front porch. Build design is high, metal casing, sturdy thick plastic and metal back plate and wall mounts. Installation isnt for a "Newbie" or "First timer". Instructions are semi simple to follow, IF you know where your current doorbell wiring is located, including power supply for the doorbell. Wifi is strong, have a Wifi AC IW right in the adjacent room, i get good/excellent signal. Custom Display to immedately inform visitors to "Quiet baby sleeping", "Leave Package at door" or any other custom message all done by the Unifi Protect app on your phone. Really a great device, much, MUCH better than my previous RING V2. ... show more

  • Do your research and get the necessary parts before installing.
BEWARE: you may receive EU version [if you open the box and you have a transformer of 230V 16 then you have an EU version] don't be alarm its the same camera. It just means you have an extra part (EU transformer) which your never going to use. NOTE: Find out what transformer you have first before installing. If you have 16VAC10VA transformer you need to get 16VAC30VA, HomeDepot is selling it for $20. Else your camera will get a notification insufficient power and your mechanical chime might not work. CONCLUSION: Installation was simple and camera is comparable with others out there, with the exception of subscriptions. ... show more

  • Best doorbell camera available
If you want home surveillance and value your privacy there is really nothing better than Ubiquiti Networks, and this video doorbell does not disappoint. First and foremost, you need to be aware that this isn't a standalone solution. So if you don't already have some sort of NVR from Unifi you will need one in order to put this to use, and overall that makes this a bit of a pricey solution in terms of what you have to spend up front. But the thing that makes the Unifi system so great is that the recordings never leave your network. It's not uploaded to some cloud where it's anybody's guess who has access to the video feeds, and to me that is absolutely worth the extra cost. Your video feeds are not bought and sold by marketing and advertising, they live on the storage device that is a part of this system that is set up somewhere on your home network. And finally, because you own the storage and the cameras there are no ongoing fees, so eventually it all pays for itself. I cannot stress how important all of this is enough. I already have a Cloud Key Gen2 already set up with cameras monitoring my property, so once the doorbell cam powered up I was able to adopt it into the system fairly easily. The video quality is excellent, you can set up motion zones, notifications, even a greeting message on the G4 Doorbell's integrated display. The large button for the doorbell chime activation has a colored LED ring around it that changes color depending on what is going on. You can do two-way audio with it as well. You will also likely need to replace the transformer that powers your door chimes. Get a 24v/40va unit here on Amazon and you'll be set. This can be a bit of a pain because it's one of those things that doesn't have a typical install location in your home - some people have them in the attic, some people have them in a closet somewhere near the front door, mine was in my crawl space of all places. Happy I purchased this to compliment the rest of the cameras I have. Ubiquiti puts out great products. ... show more

  • Disconnects a lot.
The camera works well but disconnects allot. It will only use my newer WIFI6 APs to bridge, even though there is a higher signal level in the garage next to it from an AP-AC-LR. Tried lowering the signal level on the AP6 to get it to connect to the AC-LR that is within 10 feet of it. Will only connect to my wifi 6 AP's. Not planning on replacing my other 2 AP's at this time. ... show more

  • Great hardware, but not usable for small business/enterprise settings due to security issue
Overall this is a very well made product. hardware is great, installation is easy and done in a few minutes. Adoption of the device into the Unifi network management can only be done via the mobile app but not the network console. This isn't ideal and requires some network switching, but ultimately works. Viewing can be done via the mobile Unifi Protect app which has a good UI. In practice, unfortunately it's essentially impossible to deploy this product without compromising network security. Industry best practice is to keep all video cameras on a separate VLAN/WLAN and separate traffic from with BOY devices from end users that you have little control over. However Unifi requires the network/video console to be on the same subnet as the mobile device running their app to communicate with the Doorbell. This means you have a choice of either not giving your users access to the door bell via the mobile app, or compromising your security model. You can create online accounts for all of your local users on Unifi's SSO to work around this, but this introduces other security issues and doesn't scale. Right now, I'd only recommend this for a home deployment that doesn't segment network traffic. ... show more

  • Awesome doorbell
If you have a Ubiquiti ecosystem or are planning on investing in one this doorbell is amazing. Super reliable, easy to set up, and very configurable. Picture quality is very respectable as well. The Unifi Protect application is very nice to use and has some great features. I have found the screen to be a bit gimmicky as I have never really used it before, but it is fun to play with. Overall, super satisfied! ... show more

  • SWorks great, easy install. Get a 16A-30 tranformer.
Works great. Integrates nicely into your Ui protect environment. It came with a European transformer in the box. I’m in the Us, upgraded my doorbell transformer to a 16A-30 transformer and all works well. Don’t forget to turn on the chime in the Ui.com interface with the select button or the doorbell doesn’t ring. ... show more
