Replaced a vivint doorbell left to us by the previous owners. I really like the fact that there's no batteries to mess with and we now have one audible doorbell near the front door and another at the back of the house. Extremely easy installation and am glad we got this!

Installing the new door bell was pretty easy. Before mounting the button, I plugged in the bells to make sure they worked. I used Velcro instead of the double sided tape that was provided to install the Doorbell button. The bells you just plug them in. I haven’t tried other bell rings yet but the one that was on there it’s is ok, not to many people ring it. I have a small 3 bedroom 1100 square foot house and even with one bell it would be loud enough for me. But I got the one with 2 bells just in case it wasn’t loud enough. I might have given it 5 stars but I can’t because I don’t know how long it will last. I do like that it doesn’t take batteries that I have to remember to change.     • Nice doorbell, just not for dog use

I bought this with the idea of teaching our dogs to tell us they have to go potty. I didn't want to buy the ones made specifically for dogs because they are not quality and don't last. The item itself is terrific! There are so many ringtone options and volume levels. And it is so nice that it works out of the box - no bluetooth or wifi to connect and no batteries! The issue for me is that you have to push too hard on the doorebell itself for it to ring. There is no way we could teach our dogs to push that hard on it with their paws or nose. And the push button is smaller than it looked in the picture. Unfortunately I will have to return it. But if you are purchasing it for normal use, I would highly recommend it! ... show more

Believe the reviews. It solves a very common problem people with older houses are likely to have. A failing or improperly wired doorbell. I was looking for a solution that didn't require putting multiple new holes in or through my house to get a function doorbell, but that also would survive the cold winters here. Battery-powered doorbells are not really an option in cold weather unless you want to be switching them out weekly or monthly. We removed our old doorbell button and with the provided heavy-duty command strip, applied this doorbell over the hole left by previous. We have a 3-story house + attic and the clicker works at all levels regardless of where I tried to place the receiver to test it (attic, closed closet inside of a closed bedroom, etc.). I have only a few minor criticisms that are impactful to us, but worth sharing so your expectations are tempered if you have similar considerations: 1) The receiver when plugged in obstructs both outlets for any standard, US double outlet. You get one back because the receiver has an outlet pass-thru, but if it were just 2-3 mm shorter you'd be able to make use of the second outlet as well. A miss considering the inner electrical components had room for the device to be overall smaller. If you have a non-standard outlet, or a non-US outlet, you may get lucky, but I wouldn't expect it. See included images. 2) There are a bunch of tones available to choose from for your doorbell. And happily the tone and volume settings retain even through a power outage. One negative for us is that you have one semi-normal doorbell noise, and the rest are all novelty (e.g. Christmas songs, grand-father clock, etc.). I can't imagine ever using 99.9% of them especially because the novelty tones are fairly lengthy. Like 8-12 seconds which is way too much for a doorbell tone. Even the one "normal" tone is too long. It'd have been nice for them to include at least 50% of the available tones as your standard, expected doorbell noises. As a family that works from home, I would not want any of these to go off during the day while I'm at work. I'll likely need to set them up with smarthome features to turn them off during meetings. Update: Everything is still going strong. The only hiccup we've had occurred once but was freaky. I was sitting on our couch and at 2am the doorbell rang. We have two separate cameras facing the doorbell and there's absolutely no way it was touched by man or animal. I can only assume our heavy winds that night somehow triggered it by changing pressure within the case (button is way too firm for wind to push it). Needless to say, I was paranoid. Hasn't happened since despite frequent heavy wind storms. ... show more
