We chose this chicken coop heater to keep our chickens warm in the winter. Where we live in North Dakota temperatures can reach -40° and although the coop is insulated, it’s nice to have this for when winter doesn’t want to let up. This was packaged well and is a good sized heater. I like the appearance of it because it’s thin and won’t take up much, and it has a digital template readout which is slick. It came with six anchors and screws for wall mounting within a coop as well as 2 feet that you could mount to the bottom. I really appreciate that at a 45° angle. It will automatically shut off for safety. It comes with a remote control that has three buttons. One button is the power button for turning it off and on, and there’s a button for raising the temperature and one for lowering it. When you turn it on the starting temperature is 121° with the highest setting being at 191°. That’s quite a temperature range and 191°. We would have roasted chicken instead of lane hens at those higher temps because our color is well built and insulated, so I would encourage anyone who is in a warmer region than the upper Midwest who is thinking about getting this to do their due diligence and research. I only mentioned this because we have some of the coldest temperatures in the country and people will likely be looking at this from different areas that may not have such severe weather. For adult, fully feathered chickens in an insulated North Dakota coop, it will be helpful. Naturally you do not want the coop warm like a house. Chickens tolerate cold surprisingly well when they’re dry, out of drafts, and the coop is well ventilated. For your climate, I’d aim for roughly 20–35°F inside the coop during the brutal winter stretches, rather than trying to maintain 50–70°F if you are in areas subject to severe temps. I think his great value for the price being asked. I will update after we’ve used it through one winter to share how it worked and what temperature we found to be the best for our laying hens.

Great brooder heater, will aslo work in grow out box as long as it's enclosed. There are quite a few nice things about the heat plate. First off is saftey, it's got a tip over switch so if your flock knocks it over it'll shut off. There is no light so that's one's less risk. It's got 0 exposed parts so there is nothing for anything to get cought on. Again just another level of saftey. I like that it has its own remote to control the heat without having to scare the chicks by messing with it, even though it does have up and down buttons along with power button if you prefer or lose the remote. Its got a nice temp read out in easy to read red led lights so at night you can monitor the temp and make sure it's not to hot or cold. Super easy to put together and get started with, great piece to have in the brooder and or waterproof grow out.

The TIMEBAL 2026 Chicken Coop Heater, 200W is meant to be installed upright in a vertical position. The heater does have a built in safety device that automatic turns the heat off if it detects more than a 45 degree angle, showing "FLA" on its display panel. The heater can be turned on and adjusted using the included remote control or by pressing the buttons on the heating panel. The temperature range is adjustable between 122F to 191F and emits a even, radiant heat that begin as soon as the unit is powered on. I appreciate that the power cord is around 8.5 feet long, allowing for easy placement within the coop.

These work great if you have a crate I’d box your chicks huddle in, out in the open this doesn’t work as well unless the chicks are under it. But I actually use some of these for my outdoor barn cats in the winter. I have a catio with cubbies and these fit perfect in them. Keeps whoever’s in that cubbies warm and the cubbie above gets some warmth.
