Researched many porch lights and this one worked to fit most of my needs. The sensor is placed toward outside but not to sky or some angle up. This works well at my side because I have a porch cover that it will cover/shade the top oriented sensor to mess up the dawn-dusk automatic control. Motion-sensor is very responsible and works as it should be to save energy at night. Setup is easy. Although there is water pattern on the glass of the light set, I would like the glass to have more ripple effect (not as transparent/clear as it is) to soften the lighting at night. It is already better than the clear or seed glass that other light set has from my extensive search. Also I would like this light set if it can be a bit bigger in size to look better when placed on a house entrance.     • Pretty good fixtures, but some problems with motion detection
The quality is impressive, and mounting the two fixtures to the front of my house was relatively straight-forward. It took only half an hour or so for both. Overall, they work OK with regard to both light-sensing and motion-sensing. They activate at dusk and deactivate at dawn. No problem. However, motion-sensing is erratic. The instructions state that they could sense with a range of up to 40 feet. For the light at my front porch, it sometimes triggers to the full 100% brightness level when a car passes by in the street about 50 feet away. But most of the time, either a person or a car needs to be in the driveway within 20 feet for it to trigger. The other fixture, over the garage door, is the same. A vehicle or person, would need to be pretty close to it for it to trigger. But overall, I'm satisfied with it. ... show more

We purchased this item because of the motion sensors. We love how it works and helps us feel a bit more secure. I like how it lights up when something ( cars) or someone gets close to the house. It has not been overly sensitive which was a concern in the beginning but it seems to be just right. So far so good. It’s the perfect size for our garage and the black color matches the rest of the home. It’s made of metal and seems very durable. Easy to install too. But be careful if u have never changed a light fixture or anything because of the electrical issues! ... show more

    • Great lights, don't have to remember to turn them off every morning and on in the evening.
We bought these lights for our front and back porches as we kept forgetting to turn the lights off in the morning and then on again in the evening. These lights took all that work away, we turned them on once, and didn't have to think about it again, they go on when it starts to get dark and then turn themselves off once it is light enough. I loved the feature where it was on low when it was dark, but would then go brighter when it senses movement, helped keep the critters away at night. ... show more

    • Are these really dusk to dawn lights?
I replaced my motion sensor lights with these because I want the lights to come on when it's dark out and turn off when it's light. The description has "For the high mode, the light will turn on at 30% brightness at dusk and being highly bright when motion detected." The described high mode perfectly suffices and is the entire reason for making the purchase. However, I turned the lights on and tried both high and low mode, but only get motion detection where they turn off after 5 seconds of no motion. This totally defeats the purpose of why I spent the time shopping, the money buying and more time installing and trying to figure this out. The seller quickly answered my question about this (thank you seller!) and stated to switch it to high to get the described effect, but I only get the motion sensor mode. I've read through questions about this, and see they're supposed to be turned off and on, but that doesn't work or make any sense. The enclosed "directions" only state features but do not say how to use the 3 modes with the single High/Low switch. I want to send them back, but I really don't want to spend more time messing with them, and the box is tossed. These look great, but DO NOT BUY for dusk to dawn lights. ... show more

    • Doesn't function in dim mode.,
One of the lights doesn't stay on dim mode. Is off until triggered then with motion comes on bright. It was set to dim then go to bright for motion when installed. This function is what I liked about the lights. This is the second light we have had go bad, first one was 2 years old and quit working all together. We have 4 of these lights all together so to replace them with different lights would be expensive! ... show more
