First off, this item doesn't come with any motor to have suction, so I don't know why they want me to rate the effectiveness of the suction or make sure to mention the suction power. As for the actual product, I got it to use as an inexpensive terrarium display, which it does quite nicely after I got it to stay together with all four posts. It was slightly tricky getting the last pole in place without the others popping out. Also one of of the screens came with a couple small tears, but was able to work around them. ... show more

    • Large but suction cups are low quality
Larger than I expected but thats fine. Suction cups barely work. I had to fabricate some little hooks from paper clips in order to use them. They weren't easy to put together but not terribly hard. They just don't pop together more like slip together and hold em tight till you get the mesh over. Mesh is VERY fine. Not even newly hatched betta fry could fit through! I don't regret this purchase but I do wish the suction cups were better quality. ... show more

    • Not what I was hoping for
I purchased these hoping I could use them to hold my aquatic plants in a specific area. The bottom netting wasnt sturdy enough to hold the pot, which I expected, so I cut some plastic pieces to fit the bottoms and that worked great. However the suction just wasn't strong enough to hold the weight of the small plants. I'm sure this works perfectly for fish which is what it's created for. ... show more

    • Be careful if you have small fish!
I had to take off the suction cups, add 4 thin strips of Styrofoam under each inner lip, and free-float it bc the first night I used this suctioned to the wall and woke up to 3 dead harlequin rasboras who had gotten stuck between the net and glass, couldn't breathe, and died there.

It serves the purpose. I use them to divide different colored cherry shrimps. Easy to assemble, although the nylon netting is of poor quality.

    • Does not keep small fry
I would take a picture, but it wouldn't show any fry inside. I'm a new fish parent and stripped my cichlid yesterday morning into this net within my main tank. I had about 16 small fry that all grouped up in the corner of this net. It looked good initially, and the suction cups are good quality as it took me a minute to get them off. A few hours later I came back and could only see 8 remaining. Later in the evening, only 3 remained. By the following morning, none were in the net. I do see several fry scattered about in the tank. This could work for isolating adults within the same tank, but will not keep fry safe as I hoped. ... show more
