I recently got a new chair, I weigh around 235, and have a higher-end (near $100) acrylic chair mat on top of short carpet. I wanted casters that were quieter and moved much easier. I tried the single rollerblade-style caster, but the rounded profile only created a deeper depression in the mat, and was even harder to get moving again. On hardwood or tile (or a tempered glass mat), that type may work, but not for my situation, so quickly refunded. Then I found and tried these, and am still wondering why they don't have tons more excellent reviews.. They're perfectly sized (3"). They change direction easily. They start moving easily and they're smooth and quiet. They're much nicer looking and perform way better than the garbage 2" plastic dual wheels that usually come as standard. Yep, they're worth the extra! Upgrade NOW! Highly recommended! Additionally: I also added these to the tall stool I use in my optical lab. They are completely smooth and totally quiet when transitioning from the linoleum floor to the rubber mats with the diamond-plate pattern. Being 3" and having the softer tire tread makes all the difference in the world. The plastic 2" wheels were difficult to move around, and rattled constantly. I'm even more impressed now at just how much better these are than the complete garbage standard 2" plastic casters. Do not hesitate to buy these! And no, I have not been compensated in any way for this review. I will immediately swap the casters to these for any and all future office chair purchases because they really are that good! :-)

I paid more than twice the price for a set listed as OEM STEELCASE that was, in fact, a cheap Chinese knockoff. The set labeled OEM contained 2-5-inch wheels with HARD tires, not the 3-inch Steelcase OEM soft-tire casters that came with my $1,750 Leap Chair Model 462. This hjh set is manufactured in Germany and is a perfect fit. Rolls smoothly and took just ten minutes to remove and install old set. After 22 years, they'd served me well. Go for this hjh set. You'll be happy for 22 years, too.

Wheels are big enough diamerter (3 inches) that the center post does not scrape the floor. My chair rolls very smoothly on my wood floor. So far, I like them.

Love these wheels. They have a "light" braking which I prefer over herman miller's braking caster. The 3" are a little large, these happened to go on a leap which is known for having issues with some wheels allowing the post to drag. That said, I wish I had gone with 2.5" Also not a huge fan of the grey treads. But for the price it's hard to complain

My trusty office chair wheels had had it. Also the pneumatic cylinder that raises the chair would not hold its position anymore and I just needed to raise my chair a little bit. These are the wheels I was looking for. They move smoothly on the floor, and best of all I get an extra inch-and-a-half that I needed to be comfy at my desk. Recommended!

These were absolutely the worst wheel I have seen for chairs. They barely rolled across any floor and the chair was impossible to move unless you got out of it and moved it.
