I used these anchors for my lanai sun shades. They are heavy duty, the auger is welded to the stake in a number of places, the finish is high quality. The threaded loop hooks thread into the anchor easily. These are excellent outdoor anchor stakes I highly recommend.

I used a DeWalt DCD999 to almost effortlessly drive these into what is essentially solid clay. I say almost because it did struggle with the last inch or so. But I could finish that much manually. With some careful planning, I managed to drive these such that the threaded tops were perfectly-located to allow L-brackets to rest atop them and then be directly affixed with 4 M8 bolts. The other end of the L-brackets thus being attached to the aforementioned catio to enable it to survive... pretty much anything that could befall a catio in Texas! ... show more

These anchors are pretty hefty steel and have a great design and shape. No lightweight anchors here! You can even use some different 10mm threaded rod instead of the eye loop. It’s a great way to keep my shade sail in place, which is very handy. On the down side, the spiral is only welded to the shaft in two places and the welds aren’t particularly impressive. For most soils and not using a big impact wrench, it’s probably fine. That said, you may want to be careful if you have rocky or very hard soils. ... show more

These anchors are nicely finished and constructed. Decent welds, good design with the nut welded to the stem. Not likely to pull apart. Nice pouch and a couple of useful tools included!

First impression is that these feel like a nice set of sturdy steel ground anchors. I appreciate that this kit comes with a carrying bag, the drill attachment, and a t-handle for hand drilling. I do think it a bit odd that the t-handle is essentially a "long" socket that fits the anchor properly while the drill attachment is essentially a "short" socket. I wish the drill attachment utilized the same length socket as the t-handle. On a positive note, I appreciate that both are stamped "14mm" in case you need to go source your own socket. I have not tried these out yet, but they will be used to anchor kiteboarding kites and tents at the beach this summer in 18 - 40mph winds to see how well they are up to the task. If they fail to hold up (one of the beach camping sites it is suggested to use 2' rebar or pvc pipe, minimum), I will update this review, accordingly. ... show more
