Building an irrigation system, needed a flexible hose I could cut into 5ft lengths and then add misting heads. This worked just as I had hoped it would. All hose ends slipped on quite easily without leaks, and the hose is flexible and easy to manipulate into the shape needed. It is a braided hose and won't really be under too much pressure, so I see it lasting at least a few years. Don't really know what the previous reviewer was talking about since the ad shows the hose without hose ends, and If you require "instructions" for something as simple as how to add hose ends - you must be a democrat. The same people that look at a mall map and say, "how do the map people know 'we are here'?" ... show more

This is an average garden hose. It works well, but I wouldn't classify it as a heavy duty hose. Works great, but it's the same feel as a any hose you can pick up at a local hardware store.

    • One of the hose end connectors has a back flow valve, so the hose can only be connected one way

First of all, 1/2" hose is *really* tiny if you're used to working with the standard 3/4" or 5/8" hoses. When this hose arrived, I thought it was fuel line. As you would expect, a 1/2" hose will not produce anywhere near the flow you get with a 3/4" hose. So from that standpoint alone, I don't think this hose would be suitable for sprayers or other high flow devices. That said, being only 1/2", the hose is easy to work with and very light. As you would expect, the product comes with hose end connectors. There are two connectors that attach directly to the hose, each consisting of a clamp of sorts that you screw down onto the hose, once you've inserted the connector, and a quick-connect attachment. I didn't find the use of the metal hose clamps to be necessary once I snugged the clamps down. After a lot of trial and error, where I was not able to run any water through the hose, I realized one of the connectors had a back flow valve. If water entered the connector from the hose, the back flow valve would snap shut, preventing any water from passing through. Water entering the connector from the open end would push the valve open, and water would flow just fine. The other connector was a simple pass-though device. What this means, is the connector with the back flow valve must be the one connected to the water source. If you mix-up the ends, no water will enter the hose, and you'll be standing there wondering if your water has been shut off. So in everyday use, you need to know which end is which. Dealing with what appeared to be a plugged garden hose for half an hour almost led me to just give up in frustration and toss the hose in the trash. Other attachments, including traditional threaded ones and a hose end sprayer can be attached to the hose with the quick connects, and some of my other quick connect attachments will attach to the hose end connectors. That said, the threaded attachments seem to have a slight disconnect to the threading on the hydrant, and since they are plastic, I was reluctant to force thread the hose onto the hydrant. I eventually found a threaded joint that would match up with both threads. If I were to order this again, I'd make a point of acquiring some 1/2" hose ends to avoid using the ones that come with it. While the size of the hose really restricts the water flow, it is probably fine for things like misters or drip irrigation. However, the frustration of dealing with the hose ends, and their seeming non-standard threading specifications led me to take off three stars. ... show more

its deccent enough. its a garden hose so there is not much to say about it. it was easy enough to assemble and it works. i just wish it was longer. other than that, it does what it is supposed to do. about as sturdy as any other garden hose you can buy.

Very disappointed in this hose. Not only did it arrive disassembled with absolutely no instructions (and the parts are too similar to know exactly how to connect them in the right order), but the parts are also ALL-plastic. This plastic feels cheap and fragile, and I predict it will be broken in no time. I just ordered another hose. I’m not sure what I’ll do with this one. Don’t make the same mistake.
